  • The device features an auto-power-off function to conserve battery life.

6. Operation

6.1. Measurement Modes

The AP-881W simultaneously displays WBGT, ambient temperature, and humidity. Wind speed is displayed in a separate section of the LCD.

  • WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature): This index combines temperature, humidity, wind speed, and radiant heat to assess heat stress. The black ball sensor measures radiant heat.
  • Wind Speed: Measured by the sensitive vanes at the top of the device.
  • Ambient Temperature: Air temperature measurement.
  • Humidity: Relative humidity measurement.

6.2. Unit Switching

  • Temperature Units (℃/℉): Press the ℃/℉ button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  • Wind Speed Units: Press the WIND / MODE button to cycle through wind speed units: m/s, km/h, ft/min, knots, mph.

6.3. WBGT Alarm Setting

The WBGT alarm function alerts you when the heat stress level reaches a predefined threshold. The device uses a color-coded zone indicator on the display.
