4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Scope

The Goetland Rifle Scope comes with two sets of mounting rings to accommodate both 20mm Weaver and 11mm Dovetail rails. Choose the appropriate rings for your equipment.

  1. Attach the chosen mounting rings to your rifle's rail, ensuring they are securely tightened.
  2. Place the rifle scope into the rings. Ensure proper eye relief by adjusting the scope's position forward or backward.
  3. Rotate the scope until the reticle is level.
  4. Securely tighten the ring screws, ensuring even pressure to avoid damaging the scope tube.

4.2 Battery Installation for Illumination

The illuminated reticle requires a CR2032 battery (not included due to shipping policies). To install:

  1. Unscrew the battery cap located on the illumination turret.
  2. Insert one CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards.
  3. Replace the battery cap and tighten it securely to maintain waterproof integrity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Magnification

The scope offers variable magnification from 6x to 24x. Rotate the magnification ring, located near the eyepiece, to your desired power setting.

5.2 Focusing the Objective Lens (AOEG)

The Adjustable Objective (AO) feature allows for parallax correction and sharper focus at different distances. Rotate the objective lens housing to match the distance to your target. This ensures the reticle and target appear in the same focal plane, reducing parallax error.

5.3 Adjusting Elevation and Windage

The scope features external turrets for precise elevation (vertical) and windage (horizontal) adjustments. Each click of the turret moves the point of impact by a specific amount (e.g., 1/4 MOA per click).

  1. Remove the turret caps.
  2. Rotate the elevation turret (top) to adjust vertical aim.
  3. Rotate the windage turret (side) to adjust horizontal aim.
  4. After zeroing, replace the turret caps to protect the mechanisms.

5.4 Reticle Illumination

The reticle can be illuminated in red or green with 5 brightness levels for each color.

  1. Rotate the illumination turret (located on the side, opposite the windage turret) to turn on the illumination.
  2. Continue rotating to cycle through the 5 brightness settings for red or green.
  3. Turn the turret back to the 'off' position when not in use to conserve battery life.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Keep the lenses clean for optimal clarity. Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.

  • Always use the flip-up lens covers when the scope is not in use to protect the lenses from dust and scratches.
  • Avoid touching the lenses with your fingers.

6.2 Storage

Store the scope in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the illumination is turned off to prevent battery drain.

6.3 Durability Features

Your Goetland Rifle Scope is designed for resilience:
