3. Setup & Installation

The FIDECO M.2 NVMe Enclosure features a tool-free, sandwich-style design for easy SSD installation.

  1. Open the Enclosure: Gently slide or lift the top cover of the enclosure to reveal the internal PCB. The sandwich design allows for easy access.
  2. Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD: Align your M.2 NVMe SSD with the M-Key or M+B Key slot on the PCB. Carefully insert the SSD into the slot at an angle until it is fully seated.
  3. Secure the SSD:
    • For 2280 SSDs: Use the integrated buckle at the end of the enclosure to fix the SSD securely.
    • For shorter SSDs (2230/2242/2260): Use the provided rubber plugs to secure the SSD in place at the appropriate length.
  4. Apply Thermal Pad: Place the thermal pad onto the SSD chip. Ensure good contact between the thermal pad and the SSD for optimal heat dissipation. The sandwich design helps maintain pressure for better thermal contact.
  5. Close the Enclosure: Carefully close the top cover of the enclosure, ensuring it snaps securely into place.
