5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Ergonomic Design and Hand Position

The vertical design of this mouse is intended to promote a more natural 'handshake' grip, reducing pronation of the forearm and wrist strain. Position your hand comfortably over the mouse, allowing your wrist to remain in a neutral, unbent position.

5.2. Adjusting DPI (Cursor Sensitivity)

The mouse features 5 adjustable DPI levels (800, 1600, 2400, 3200, 4800) to suit various tasks and preferences. To change the DPI, press the DPI Switch Button located on the top of the mouse, behind the scroll wheel. Each press cycles through the available DPI settings.

6. Compatibility

The TECKNET TK-MS007 Ergonomic Wireless Vertical Mouse is compatible with most operating systems that support USB-A devices, including:

  • Windows (all versions with USB-A support)
  • Mac OS X 10.4 and later
  • Chrome OS
  • Linux

Important Note for Mac OS Users: The side buttons (Forward/Backward) may not function on Mac OS due to system limitations. Basic left-click, right-click, scroll, and DPI adjustment functions will operate normally.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the mouse. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the mouse frequently. Charge it when the low battery indicator appears. If storing the mouse for an extended period, ensure it is partially charged and turn it off.
  • Storage: Store the mouse in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Mouse not responding:
    • Ensure the mouse is turned on.
    • Check if the USB-A receiver is securely plugged into a working USB-A port on your computer.
    • Recharge the mouse battery.
    • Try plugging the USB-A receiver into a different USB-A port.
    • Restart your computer.
  • Cursor movement is erratic or slow:
    • Adjust the DPI setting using the DPI switch button.
    • Ensure the mouse is used on a clean, non-reflective surface. Optical mice may not track well on glass or highly reflective surfaces.
    • Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse.
  • Wireless connection issues:
    • Ensure the mouse is within the 10-meter (33 feet) operating range of the receiver.
    • Minimize interference from other wireless devices by moving them further away.
  • Side buttons not working on Mac OS:
    • This is a known compatibility limitation. The side buttons (Forward/Backward) are generally not supported on Mac OS.
