1. Introduction

The MT-VIKI USB 3.0 HDMI KVM Switch (Model MT-KH2S3) is designed to allow two computers to share a single monitor, keyboard, mouse, and up to two additional USB 3.0 devices. This KVM switcher supports high-resolution video output up to 4K@60Hz and is backward compatible with 4K@30Hz, 2K@144Hz, and 1080P@240Hz. It features both USB-A and USB-C ports for versatile peripheral connectivity and offers two convenient switching methods: a button on the KVM unit and a wired remote switch. The device is compatible with various operating systems including Windows 7/8/10/11/Vista/XP, Linux, and Mac.

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the ports and buttons on the KVM switch for proper connection and operation.

3.1 Front Panel

USB-C 3.0 Port: For connecting USB-C peripherals.
USB 3.0 Port: For connecting USB-A peripherals.
CONTROL Port: For connecting the wired remote switch.
Source Buttons (1 & 2): Used to manually switch between connected computers.

3.2 Rear Panel

DC 5V Power Interface: For connecting the USB A-C power cable to provide power to the KVM switch.
Keyboard/Mouse Interface (2x USB 3.0): For connecting your shared keyboard and mouse.
HDMI Output Interface (OUT): Connects to your shared monitor.
HDMI Input Interfaces (IN1 & IN2): Connects to the HDMI output of your two computers.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your MT-VIKI KVM Switch:

Power Connection: Connect the provided USB A-C power cable to the DC 5V port on the KVM switch and to a USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port on one of your computers.
Monitor Connection: Connect your monitor to the HDMI OUT port on the KVM switch using an HDMI cable (not included).
Computer 1 Connection:
- Connect an HDMI cable from your first computer's HDMI output to the HDMI IN1 port on the KVM switch.
- Connect one of the provided USB A to B cables from your first computer's USB 3.0 port to the USB IN1 port on the KVM switch.
Computer 2 Connection:
- Connect an HDMI cable from your second computer's HDMI output to the HDMI IN2 port on the KVM switch.
- Connect the second provided USB A to B cable from your second computer's USB 3.0 port to the USB IN2 port on the KVM switch.
Keyboard and Mouse Connection: Connect your USB keyboard and USB mouse to the dedicated USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel of the KVM switch.
Additional USB Devices: Connect any other USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 peripherals (e.g., USB flash drives, printers, mobile hard drives) to the USB 3.0 and USB-C 3.0 ports on the front panel.
Wired Remote Switch: Plug the wired remote switch into the CONTROL port on the front panel for convenient switching.

5. Operating Instructions

The MT-VIKI KVM Switch offers two methods for switching between connected computers:

Front Panel Button: Press the "1" or "2" button on the front of the KVM switch to select the corresponding computer.
Wired Remote Switch: Press the button on the wired remote switch to toggle between Computer 1 and Computer 2.

When switching, there may be a brief delay (approximately 3 seconds) as the computer recognizes the USB connection. This is normal operation.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your KVM switch:

Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
Ensure all cable connections are secure to prevent signal loss or intermittent operation.
Avoid placing heavy objects on the KVM switch.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, refer to the following common solutions:

Problem	Possible Cause / Solution
No video output or distorted image.	Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the KVM switch and the computers/monitor. Verify that the correct input source is selected on your monitor. Check if the KVM switch is receiving adequate power. Try using different HDMI cables. Some users reported distorted HDMI signals; if this occurs, try disconnecting and reconnecting the KVM switch from power and USB cables.
Keyboard or mouse not responding.	Ensure the USB A to B cables are securely connected from the KVM switch to both computers. Verify that the keyboard and mouse are plugged into the correct dedicated USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel. Try connecting the keyboard and mouse directly to the computer to confirm they are functional. Reconnect the KVM switch's power and USB cables.
Delay when switching computers.	A brief delay (approximately 3 seconds) is normal as the computer recognizes the new USB connection. This is expected behavior.
Bright blue indicator light.	Some users find the indicator light bright. This is a design feature. If distracting, consider repositioning the unit or covering the light.
Peripherals not recognized after switching multiple times.	Try disconnecting and reconnecting the KVM switch from its power and USB cables to reset the connections. Ensure direct connection to the laptop/PC if using a dock, as some docks may interfere.
