1. Introduction

The ORICO Minidock Mac mini M4 Dock is a versatile 9-in-1 aluminum hub designed specifically for the Mac mini 2024. It integrates multiple connectivity options and includes a built-in 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD to expand your storage and enhance your desktop setup. Its vertical design helps save desktop space while providing convenient access to all ports.

3. Setup Guide

  1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the ORICO Minidock from its packaging.
  2. Position the Mac mini: Place your Mac mini M4 securely into the vertical slot of the Minidock. Ensure it is seated correctly for optimal stability and connection.
  3. Connect to Mac mini: Use the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the "PC IN" port on the Minidock to a Thunderbolt/USB-C port on your Mac mini. This connection enables data transfer and power delivery.
  4. Connect Peripherals:
    • Display: Connect your monitor to the HDMI port on the Minidock using an HDMI cable.
    • Network: For a wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port.
    • USB Devices: Plug in your USB-A and USB-C peripherals (keyboards, mice, external drives, etc.) into the corresponding ports.
    • SD/TF Cards: Insert your SD or TF cards into the dedicated card reader slots.
  5. Power Connection (Optional for PD): If you require PD100W fast charging for a laptop or other device, connect a compatible USB-C power adapter to the PD100W USB-C port on the Minidock.
  6. Power On: Press the power button located at the bottom of the Minidock to activate the hub.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Integrated SSD

The built-in 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD will appear as an external drive on your operating system once the Minidock is connected. You can use it for high-speed data storage, backups, or running applications. For optimal performance, ensure your Mac mini's USB-C port supports 10Gbps data transfer.

4.2 Connecting a 4K Monitor

Connect your 4K monitor to the HDMI port on the Minidock. The dock supports 4K resolution at 60Hz, providing a smooth and clear display. Ensure your HDMI cable is rated for 4K@60Hz to achieve the best visual quality.

4.3 High-Speed Data Transfer

Utilize the 10Gbps USB-C and USB-A ports for rapid data transfer with compatible devices. This is ideal for transferring large files, such as video projects or extensive photo libraries.

4.4 Power Delivery (PD)

The PD100W USB-C port allows for fast charging of your compatible laptop or other devices. Connect your device's charging cable to this port and ensure a suitable power adapter is connected to the Minidock's PD input.

4.5 Card Reader Functionality

The integrated SD/TF (3.0) card reader allows for simultaneous reading of both SD and TF cards, providing convenient access to media from cameras or other devices.
