4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover, typically found on the side or bottom of the device.
  2. Twist or slide the cover to open it.
  3. Insert one CR2 3V disposable battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the indicators inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device requires one CR2 battery, which is included in the package. Ensure the battery is inserted correctly to power on the device.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, press the Power/Measurement button once. The display will activate.
  • The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

5.2 Taking a Measurement

  1. Look through the eyepiece and aim the crosshairs at your target.
  2. Press the Power/Measurement button once. The distance will be displayed almost instantly (approximately 0.06 seconds).

5.3 Flag Lock with Vibration

This feature helps to accurately measure the distance to the flagstick, ignoring background objects.

  1. While looking through the eyepiece, aim at the flagstick.
  2. Long-press the Power/Measurement button to activate flag targeting.
  3. Once the rangefinder locks onto the flag, you will feel a tactile vibration, and the distance to the flag will be displayed.

5.4 Slope Compensation

The slope compensation feature provides an adjusted distance reading, accounting for changes in elevation between you and the target. This is useful for understanding the effective playing distance.

  • To activate or deactivate slope compensation, press the dedicated 'Slope' button on the device.
  • A green LED indicator will light up when slope compensation is OFF, indicating tournament compliance. When the indicator is off, slope compensation is ON.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Lenses: Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials or excessive force.
  • Body: Wipe the body of the rangefinder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the rangefinder in its protective carry pouch when not in use.
  • Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage.

6.3 Water Resistance

The Dormie T100 is IPX4 rated, meaning it is resistant to water splashes from any direction. It is not designed for submersion in water.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on:
    Ensure the CR2 battery is correctly installed with the correct polarity. Replace the battery if it is depleted.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    Ensure the target is within the effective range (5-800 yards). Clean the lenses if they are dirty. Ensure you are holding the device steady.
  • Flag lock not working:
    Ensure you are long-pressing the Power/Measurement button to activate the flag targeting mode. Make sure the flagstick is clearly visible and not obscured.
  • Display is dim or unclear:
    Check battery level. Adjust the eyepiece focus by rotating it.
  • Magnetic mount not holding securely:
    Ensure the surface you are attaching it to is clean and metallic. The magnetic bite clip is designed for convenience; exercise caution to prevent accidental detachment.
