3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install your WAVLINK WiFi 6E AX5400 PCIe WiFi Card into your desktop PC.

  1. Power Off PC: Ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Open PC Case: Open the side panel of your computer case to access the motherboard.
  3. Locate PCIe Slot: Identify an available PCIe X1, X4, X8, or X16 slot on your motherboard. Note: This card is not compatible with standard PCI slots.

  5. Remove Plastic Film: Before inserting the card, ensure you remove any protective plastic film from the gold-plated fingers on the PCIe connector.

  7. Insert WiFi Card: Gently insert the WiFi card into the chosen PCIe slot until it is firmly seated. Secure the card with a screw if your case requires it.
  8. Connect Bluetooth Cable: Connect the small 4-pin connector of the included Bluetooth cable to the corresponding port on the WiFi card. Connect the larger 9-pin connector to an available USB header on your motherboard. This connection is essential for Bluetooth functionality.
  9. Attach Antennas: Screw the two external antennas onto the connectors at the back of the WiFi card. Adjust their angle for optimal signal reception.

  11. Close PC Case and Power On: Close your PC case, plug in the power cable, and power on your computer.

    For Windows 10/11 and Linux, the operating system may automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. If not, or for optimal performance, download the latest drivers from the official WAVLINK website. You may need to use a temporary wired internet connection or another device to download the drivers onto a USB drive.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the card is installed and drivers are set up, your computer will recognize the new wireless and Bluetooth capabilities.

4.1 Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Navigate to your operating system's network settings.
  2. Select the desired Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  3. Enter the network password if prompted and click "Connect".
  4. The card will automatically connect to the optimal band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 6GHz) based on your router's capabilities and signal strength.
