Setup Guide

1. Placement

Place the projector on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely to a ceiling. Ensure the projector is positioned perpendicular to the projection screen or wall for optimal image geometry. Allow sufficient space around the projector for ventilation.

2. Connecting Power

  1. Connect the supplied power cord to the projector's power inlet (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

3. Connecting Video Sources

The InFocus IN114A offers various input options:

  • HDMI: For high-definition digital video and audio. Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, laptop) to the HDMI port on the projector.
  • VGA (Computer 1/2): For analog video from computers. Connect a VGA cable from your computer's VGA output to either the COMPUTER 1 or COMPUTER 2 port.

If your video source does not transmit audio via HDMI, or if you prefer separate audio, use the audio input ports:

  • Connect audio cables (red/white RCA or 3.5mm jack) from your source device to the AUDIO 1 or AUDIO 2 ports on the projector.
  • The projector has an internal speaker, but for better audio quality, connect the AUDIO OUT port to an external sound system.

  • Power On: Press the Power button on the projector's control panel or the remote control. The power indicator light will turn steady blue.

Use the arrow buttons and "Menu" / "Enter" buttons on the projector or remote control to navigate the On-Screen Display menu for advanced settings and adjustments.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Projector

  • Casing: Wipe the projector casing with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lens: Use a professional lens cleaning kit (blower brush, lens cleaning fluid, microfiber cloth) to gently clean the lens. Avoid touching the lens surface with your fingers.
  • Ventilation Openings: Periodically use a soft brush or compressed air to clear dust from the ventilation openings to ensure proper airflow.

2. Lamp Replacement

The projector lamp has a finite lifespan (up to 10,000 hours). When the lamp life is nearing its end, a warning message may appear, or the image brightness may significantly decrease. Refer to the projector's full service manual for detailed lamp replacement instructions. Always use genuine InFocus replacement lamps.

3. Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement

Some projector models include an air filter that requires regular cleaning or replacement to prevent dust buildup and maintain cooling efficiency. Consult your projector's specific documentation for air filter location and maintenance procedures.
