Introduction

The GoPro Volta is a versatile accessory designed to enhance your GoPro camera experience. It functions as a premium battery grip, a built-in tripod, and a wireless remote control. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Volta to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your Volta. Connect the Volta to a USB power source using a compatible USB-C cable (not included). The LED indicators will show charging status.

2. Attaching Your GoPro Camera

1. Ensure your GoPro camera is compatible (HERO12/11/10 Black, HERO11 Black Mini).
2. Open the retractable mounting fingers on the Volta.
3. Align your GoPro camera's mounting points with the Volta's fingers and secure it.
4. Connect the coiled USB-C cable from the Volta to your GoPro's USB-C port. Ensure the included weather-resistant side door is used on your GoPro for optimal protection when connected to the Volta.

3. Bluetooth Pairing (for Wireless Remote Control)

To use Volta as a wireless remote, it must be paired with your GoPro camera.

1. On your GoPro, navigate to Connections > Connect Device > Volta.
2. On the Volta, press and hold the Bluetooth button (usually indicated by a Bluetooth icon) until the LED flashes.
3. Once paired, the LED on the Volta will turn solid, and your GoPro will confirm the connection.

Operating Instructions

1. Integrated Camera Controls

The Volta features integrated buttons for easy one-handed control of your GoPro when attached:

• Power/Mode Button: Press to power on/off or switch camera modes.
• Shutter Button: Press to start/stop capture (record video, take photos).
• Bluetooth Button: Used for pairing and activating wireless remote mode.

2. Using as a Battery Grip

The Volta's built-in 4900 mAh battery significantly extends your GoPro's recording time, providing over 5.5 hours of 4K30 recording. When connected via the USB-C cable, the Volta charges your GoPro's internal battery, allowing for extended shooting sessions.

3. Using as a Tripod

The integrated tripod legs easily flip out from the base of the Volta. This provides a stable platform for stationary shots, time-lapses, or group photos. The swivel mounting fingers allow you to rotate and tilt your camera to achieve the desired capture angle.

4. Using as a Wireless Remote

Once paired via Bluetooth, you can detach your GoPro from the Volta and use the Volta as a remote control from up to 98 feet (30 meters) away. This is ideal for selfies, group shots, or when your camera is mounted out of reach.

6. Additional Mounting Options

The Volta features retractable mounting fingers that make it easy to attach to GoPro backpack straps and other mounts. Additionally, an 8 Standard 1/4-20 mount is built into the base, adding even more mounting versatility for various accessories.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the Volta with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the USB-C port and cable connection points are free of debris.

2. Weather Resistance

The Volta features weather-resistant construction with a specially designed cable/door seal to protect your camera from splashing water, snow, and rain. While it is weather-resistant, it is not waterproof. Do not submerge the Volta in water.

3. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the Volta frequently. Store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months.

Troubleshooting

• Volta Not Charging: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the Volta and a working power source. Try a different cable or power adapter.
• GoPro Not Receiving Power: Check that the coiled USB-C cable is firmly connected to both the Volta and your GoPro. Ensure your GoPro's side door is properly closed around the cable.
• Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Make sure your GoPro's Bluetooth is enabled. Try unpairing and re-pairing the Volta. Ensure the Volta is within the 98ft (30m) range.
• Buttons Not Responding: Ensure the Volta is powered on and properly connected/paired with your GoPro. A firmware update for either the Volta or your GoPro might be necessary. Visit the official GoPro support website for the latest updates.
• Cable Failure: In rare cases, the integrated cable may experience issues. If the cable is damaged or not functioning, contact GoPro support for assistance.
