Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the coffee maker for any damage.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
3. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with clean water. Place the empty reusable filter basket into the filter holder. Close the top lid. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Plug in the coffee maker and run a full brew cycle without coffee grounds to clean the internal components. Discard the water.
4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface near an electrical outlet. Ensure there is enough clearance above for the lid to open fully.

Operating Instructions

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. Use the water level window on the side to ensure you add the desired amount of water, up to the 12-cup maximum.
2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter basket into the filter holder. Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. For best results, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Close the top lid securely.
3. Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is empty and properly seated on the warming plate.
4. Set Time (Optional): To set the current time, press the 'HOUR' and 'MINUTE' buttons.
5. Program Brew Time (Optional): To program a delayed brew, press the 'PROG' button. The display will flash. Use the 'HOUR' and 'MINUTE' buttons to set your desired brew time. Press 'PROG' again to confirm. The 'PROG' indicator light will illuminate.
6. Start Brewing: Press the 'BREW/OFF' button to start the brewing cycle immediately. The 'BREW/OFF' indicator light will illuminate.
7. Pause and Serve: During the brewing cycle, you can temporarily remove the carafe to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will automatically pause. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

Maintenance and Cleaning

• Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard used coffee grounds. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter basket in warm, soapy water or place them on the top rack of your dishwasher. The non-stick warming plate can be wiped clean with a damp cloth once cooled.
• Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance. Your coffee maker features a cleaning cycle alert to indicate when descaling is needed. To descale, fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio). Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a full brew cycle. After the cycle, let the coffee maker cool for 15 minutes, then run two full cycles with clean water to rinse.
• Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
