Important Safety Instructions

Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the coffee maker for any damage.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): To clean the internal components, fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with clean water. Place the empty reusable filter basket into the filter holder. Close the top lid. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Plug in the coffee maker and press the "Brew/Off" button to start a brewing cycle. Discard the water after the cycle is complete. Repeat this process with a mixture of water and vinegar (e.g., 6 cups water, 6 cups white vinegar) for a more thorough cleaning, then run two cycles with plain water to rinse.
- Setting the Clock: Plug in the coffee maker. The LCD display will flash "12:00 AM". Press the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons to set the current time. The clock will automatically start once set.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. Refer to the water level window for desired cups (up to 12 cups).
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter basket into the filter holder. Add your desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. For best results, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Close the top lid securely.
- Position Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe with its lid is properly placed on the warming plate.
- Start Brewing: Press the "Brew/Off" button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
- Pause & Serve: The anti-drip feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe to pour a cup before the brewing cycle is complete. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
- Automatic Shut-Off: The coffee maker will automatically shut off 2 hours after brewing is complete.

Programming the Brew Time
You can program your coffee maker to start brewing automatically up to 24 hours in advance.
- Prepare the coffee maker as described in steps 1 and 2 of "Brewing Coffee".
- Press the "Prog" button. The display will show "PROG" and the time will flash.
- Use the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons to set your desired delayed brew time.
- Press the "Prog" button again to confirm the setting. The "PROG" indicator light will remain illuminated.
- The coffee maker will start brewing at the programmed time. To cancel the programmed brew, press the "Brew/Off" button.
Adjusting Brew Strength
Select between regular or bold coffee strength to suit your preference.
- After adding water and coffee grounds, press the "Brew/Off" button.
- Immediately press the "Brew/Off" button again to cycle through regular or bold options. The display may indicate "BOLD" for bold strength.
- The coffee maker will then brew according to your selected strength.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard used coffee grounds from the reusable filter basket. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter basket in warm, soapy water or place them in the dishwasher (top rack recommended). Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
- Descaling: Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect performance. The coffee maker features a cleaning cycle alert. When the "CLEAN" indicator illuminates on the display, it's time to descale.
- Descaling Procedure: Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the "Brew/Off" button to start a brewing cycle. Once the cycle is complete, discard the vinegar solution. Run two full cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse thoroughly.
