3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The digital torque wrench requires batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the handle or rear of the unit. Insert the specified battery type (e.g., AAA or button cell) ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.
3.2 Attaching Adapters
To use the wrench with different drive sizes, attach the appropriate adapter to the 1/2" drive square on the wrench. Ensure the adapter is securely seated and locked into place.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the Power/Unit (U) button for approximately 2 seconds. The LCD display will illuminate.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Unit (U) button again for approximately 2 seconds. The display will turn off. The device may also feature an auto-off function after a period of inactivity.
4.2 Setting Measurement Units
While the wrench is powered on, briefly press the Power/Unit (U) button to cycle through the available measurement units: Nm, ft-lb, in-lb, kg-cm. Select the desired unit for your application.
4.3 Setting Torque Value (Target Torque)
- Press the Mode (M) button to enter the torque setting mode.
- Use the + and - buttons to adjust the target torque value. Pressing and holding these buttons will increase or decrease the value more rapidly.
- Once the desired torque value is set, press the Mode (M) button again to confirm and exit the setting mode, or wait for a few seconds for it to auto-confirm.
4.4 Measurement Modes (Peak & Trace)
The wrench offers two primary measurement modes:
- Peak (P) Mode: In this mode, the display will hold the maximum torque value applied during the tightening process. This is useful for recording the highest torque achieved. To activate, press the P/T button until "PEAK" or "P" is indicated on the display.
- Trace (T) Mode: In this mode, the display shows the real-time torque value as it is being applied. This is useful for monitoring torque application continuously. To activate, press the P/T button until "TRACE" or "T" is indicated on the display.
4.5 Applying Torque
- Ensure the correct socket or attachment is securely fitted to the wrench or adapter.
- Place the wrench onto the fastener.
- Apply steady, smooth force to the wrench handle. Observe the LCD display for the real-time torque reading.
- When the target torque value is reached, the wrench will typically provide an audible beep and/or a visual indicator (e.g., LED light) to alert you. Stop applying force immediately upon indication.
- Release the wrench from the fastener.
Important: Always ensure the wrench is calibrated correctly and used within its specified torque range to prevent damage to the tool or the fastener.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the wrench clean with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or housing. Avoid submerging the unit in water.
5.2 Storage
Store the digital torque wrench in its protective case in a dry, clean environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If the wrench will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage.
5.3 Calibration
Digital torque wrenches require periodic calibration to maintain accuracy. Refer to the manufacturer's recommendations for calibration intervals. Typically, calibration should be performed annually or after significant impacts or heavy use. Contact an authorized service center for calibration services.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Wrench does not power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Check battery polarity. Replace batteries with new ones. |
| Inaccurate torque readings. | Wrench needs calibration; improper usage. | Ensure proper technique (smooth, steady pull). Have the wrench professionally calibrated. |
| Display is dim or flickering. | Low battery power. | Replace batteries. |
| Wrench does not beep at target torque. | Audible alert function is off; faulty speaker. | Check manual for how to enable/disable audible alerts. If problem persists, contact support. |
