2. Setup
2.1 Included Components
Before beginning, ensure all components are present:

2.2 Battery Installation and Charging
The Godox V1-CU is powered by a high-performance 7.2V/2600mAh Li-ion battery. This battery provides approximately 480 full power shots and a fast 1.5-second recycling time.
- Insert the Li-ion battery into the designated battery compartment on the flash unit. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- To charge the battery, use the provided charger and USB charging cable. Connect the charger to a power source and the battery.

The Godox V1-CU features a quick lock hot-shoe for secure and easy attachment to your Canon camera.
- Slide the flash unit onto your camera's hot-shoe mount.
- Engage the quick lock mechanism to secure the flash firmly in place.

3.1 Basic Flash Modes and Functions
The Godox V1-CU supports a variety of flash modes and functions for versatile lighting control:
- TTL Autoflash: Automatically adjusts flash output for correct exposure.
- Manual Flash: Allows precise manual control over flash power.
- 1/8000s High-speed sync (HSS): Enables flash synchronization with shutter speeds faster than the camera's native sync speed.
- Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC): Adjusts the flash output level.
- Flash Exposure Lock: Locks the flash exposure value.
- Second Curtain Sync: Fires the flash at the end of the exposure, creating motion trails behind the subject.

3.2 Wireless Control and Compatibility
The built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system offers comprehensive control and great compatibility with other Godox wireless products.
- The V1-CU can function as a master or slave unit within the Godox 2.4G wireless X system.
- It can work seamlessly with Godox 2.4G Wireless X system transmitters (e.g., XPro, X2, X1 series) for off-camera flash control.
- Controllable slave groups: A, B, C, D, E (E group can be controlled by X series flash trigger).
- Transmission range (approx.): 100m.
- Channels: 32 (1-32). ID: 01-99.

- The flash head can be adjusted from 0° to 330° horizontally and -7° to 120° vertically, improving shooting efficiency in bounce flash.
- The built-in LED modeling lamp is adjustable from 01 to 10 steps, providing a continuous light source for previewing lighting.
