4. Setup

4.1 Physical Installation

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a location that provides optimal viewing angles and is within range of your Wi-Fi network and a power source. Ensure the camera is mounted securely.
  2. Drill Holes: Use the mounting template (if provided) or the camera base to mark and drill holes for the mounting screws.
  3. Secure the Camera: Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes and then secure the camera to the wall or ceiling using the provided screws.
  4. Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the camera and plug it into a power outlet. The camera will power on and initiate its startup sequence.

4.2 Network Connection

The SV3C HX08 supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. It is recommended to use the Camhipro app for initial setup.

  1. Download the App: Search for "Camhipro" in your smartphone's app store (Google Play for Android or App Store for iOS) and install it.
  2. Register/Log In: Open the Camhipro app and register a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Camera: Tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select the option to add a Wi-Fi camera.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the in-app instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the camera or using Bluetooth pairing for a simplified setup. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend for the camera.

  5. Set Camera Password: Create a strong password for your camera to ensure security.
  6. AP Mode (Optional): If you do not have a Wi-Fi router or prefer a direct connection, the camera supports AP mode. Refer to the app's advanced settings for instructions on enabling and connecting via AP mode.

4.3 Micro SD Card Installation

The camera supports a Micro SD card up to 128GB for local storage.

  1. Power Off: Disconnect the camera from power before inserting or removing the SD card.
  2. Locate SD Card Slot: The SD card slot is typically located under a waterproof cover on the camera body. Carefully open the cover.
  3. Insert SD Card: Insert the Micro SD card into the slot with the contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
  4. Close Cover: Ensure the waterproof cover is securely closed to protect the slot from moisture.
  5. Format SD Card: After powering on the camera, access the camera settings in the Camhipro app and format the SD card for optimal performance.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Live View

Open the Camhipro app and select your camera from the device list to access the live video feed. You can switch between wide-angle and telephoto views if the camera supports it.

5.2 Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ)

The camera supports 320-degree horizontal pan and 90-degree vertical tilt. Use the controls within the Camhipro app to adjust the camera's viewing angle.

5.3 Night Vision Modes

The camera offers three night vision modes:

  • Infrared Night Vision: Provides black and white video in low-light conditions using infrared LEDs.
  • Full-Color Night Vision: Activates built-in spotlights to provide full-color video at night.
  • Smart Night Vision: The camera operates in infrared mode and automatically switches to full-color mode with spotlights when motion is detected.

You can select your preferred night vision mode in the camera settings within the app.

5.4 Motion Detection & AI Features

The camera uses advanced AI to detect and differentiate between humans, vehicles, and pets, minimizing false alarms. When motion is detected, the camera can:

  • Send push notifications to your smartphone.
  • Trigger an audible alarm and/or activate built-in spotlights.
  • Automatically track the detected object.
  • Record video to the SD card or cloud storage.

5.5 Two-Way Audio

Use the two-way audio feature to communicate with individuals near the camera. Tap the microphone icon in the live view interface to speak, and listen through the camera's speaker.

5.6 Recording and Playback

The camera supports continuous 24/7 recording to a Micro SD card or event-triggered recording to both SD card and optional cloud storage. To view recordings, access the playback feature in the Camhipro app.

5.7 Remote Access

Access your camera feed and settings from anywhere using the Camhipro app on your smartphone or tablet. For PC access, download the HiP2P client software from the SV3C website. The camera also supports ONVIF, RTSP, and HTTP protocols for integration with other systems.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Camhipro app periodically for available firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance and security.
  • Power Cycle: If the camera experiences issues, try power cycling it by unplugging and replugging the power adapter.
  • Reset: If issues persist, a factory reset may be necessary. Refer to the app or SV3C support for instructions on performing a factory reset. Note that this will erase all settings.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Camera Not Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Check if your router supports 2.4GHz or 5GHz, and ensure the camera is attempting to connect to a supported band.
  • Restart your router and the camera.
  • Try connecting the camera via AP mode if available.

7.2 Poor Image Quality

  • Clean the camera lens.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the lens.
  • Check your network connection speed. A slow connection can affect streaming quality.
  • Adjust image settings (brightness, contrast) in the app.

7.3 Motion Detection Not Working or Too Many False Alarms

  • Adjust the detection sensitivity in the app.
  • Define specific detection zones to exclude areas with frequent irrelevant movement (e.g., trees swaying).
  • Ensure AI detection for humans/vehicles/pets is enabled if you want to filter out other movements.

7.4 SD Card Not Recording

  • Ensure the SD card is correctly inserted.
  • Format the SD card through the camera settings in the app.
  • Check if the SD card is full. The camera typically overwrites old footage, but ensure this setting is enabled.
  • Verify that recording schedules or event-triggered recording are properly configured in the app.
