1. Safety Information
Please read and understand all instructions before assembly and use. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Adult Supervision Required: Always supervise children while they are playing in the sandbox.
- Age Recommendation: Suitable for children aged 3 years and older.
- Weight Limit: Each bench supports up to 110 lbs (50 kg). Do not exceed this limit.
- Placement: Place the sandbox on a level, stable surface away from hazards such as fences, trees, or structures. Ensure adequate clearance around the sandbox.
- Material Safety: The sandbox is made of fir wood with 100% water-based, non-toxic, and odorless paint. Ensure all parts are smooth and burr-free before use.
- Sand Quality: Use clean, play-grade sand. Regularly check the sand for debris or foreign objects.
- Canopy Use: The UV-blocking canopy provides shade. Ensure it is securely attached. Roll up ventilation windows for airflow.
- Weather Conditions: Do not use the sandbox during strong winds or severe weather. Secure or remove the canopy if high winds are expected.

3. Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. An electric drill is recommended for faster and easier installation of screws.
- Assemble the Base: Connect the wooden side panels to form the rectangular base of the sandbox. Ensure all screws are tightened securely. The pre-drilled holes should align precisely.
- Install Bench Supports: Attach the smaller wooden pieces that will serve as supports for the benches inside the sandbox.
- Attach Vertical Posts: Secure the four vertical wooden posts to the corners of the sandbox base. These posts will support the canopy structure.
- Install Benches: Place the wooden bench planks onto the bench supports and secure them with screws. There are three benches designed for comfortable seating.
- Attach Canopy Frame: Connect the curved wooden pieces to the top of the vertical posts to form the canopy's roof frame.
- Install Non-Woven Liner: Lay the durable non-woven fabric liner inside the sandbox base. This liner helps contain sand, provides drainage, and allows for easy adjustment of sand depth.
- Attach Canopy Cover: Drape the blue-and-white striped Oxford fabric canopy over the wooden roof frame. Secure the canopy to the vertical posts using the hook-and-loop tapes. Ensure the side walls with ventilation windows are correctly positioned.

4. Operating Instructions
The VIVOHOME Wood Sandbox is designed for outdoor play, offering a safe and engaging environment for children.
- Filling with Sand: Once assembled, fill the sandbox with an appropriate amount of play-grade sand. The bottomless design with the liner allows you to adjust the sand depth as desired.
- Using the Canopy: The detachable canopy provides UV protection and shade. Ensure it is properly secured to the frame.
- Ventilation Windows: The canopy features ventilation windows on the side walls. These can be rolled up and secured with ropes to allow for increased airflow and brightness within the sandbox area.
- Seating: The sandbox includes three sturdy benches for children to sit comfortably during play.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during inclement weather, consider covering the sandbox to protect the sand and wooden components. The canopy can be easily removed for cleaning or storage.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life of your VIVOHOME Wood Sandbox.
- Wood Care: Periodically inspect the wooden components for any signs of wear, splinters, or damage. Sand down any rough spots if necessary. While the wood is treated with water-based paint, re-sealing or re-painting the wood annually with a child-safe, non-toxic outdoor wood sealant can help protect it from weather elements and prolong its lifespan.
- Canopy Cleaning: The Oxford fabric canopy can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For deeper cleaning, the canopy is effortlessly removable. Allow it to air dry completely before reattaching or storing.
- Sand Maintenance: Regularly rake and aerate the sand to prevent compaction and promote drying. Cover the sandbox when not in use to keep out debris, animals, and moisture. Replace sand periodically or as needed to maintain hygiene.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Tighten any loose hardware to maintain structural integrity.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your sandbox, refer to the following common solutions:
- Loose Components: If any wooden panels or benches feel wobbly, check and tighten all associated screws.
- Canopy Not Staying Secure: Ensure the hook-and-loop tapes are clean and fully engaged. If the canopy is frequently exposed to strong winds, consider adding additional securing points or removing it during such conditions.
- Wood Discoloration/Mildew: This can occur with prolonged exposure to moisture. Clean affected areas with a mild wood cleaner and ensure proper ventilation. Regular maintenance and covering the sandbox can prevent this.
- Difficulty Rolling Up Windows: Check for any obstructions or dirt in the fabric. Ensure the ropes are not tangled.
