1. Introduction

The SONICAKE Pocket Master is a portable multi-effects pedal designed for guitar, bass, and acoustic instruments. It integrates a wide array of features including over 100 built-in effects, 20 legendary amp models, IR cabinet simulation, a drum machine, looper, and a stereo OTG USB audio interface. Its compact size and built-in rechargeable battery make it an ideal companion for musicians on the go, offering versatile sound shaping and recording capabilities.

2. Product Overview

2.1. Key Components

The Pocket Master features a clear LCD color screen for easy navigation and control. The main interface includes a VALUE/VOL knob for adjustments and two footswitches for preset changes and tuner activation. The device's compact design is optimized for portability.

2.2. Connectivity

• IN Jack: 1/4-inch input for connecting your instrument.

3. Setup

3.1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the Pocket Master using the provided USB-C cable and a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to four hours of continuous use.

3.2. Connecting Your Instrument

1. Connect your guitar, bass, or acoustic instrument to the IN jack using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
2. Connect the OUT jack to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface. For silent practice, connect headphones to the PHONES jack.

3.3. Software Installation and Firmware Update

To unlock the full potential of your Pocket Master, including sound editing, preset management, and access to new features like NAM profile support, download the free SONICAKE software for Mac/Windows/iOS/Android from the official SONICAKE website. Regularly check for and install firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest functionalities.

4. Operating the Pocket Master

4.1. Navigating Presets and Effects

The Pocket Master comes with 100 presets. Use the footswitches to cycle through presets. The LCD screen displays the current preset number and active effect blocks. The VALUE/VOL knob adjusts various parameters depending on the selected mode.

4.2. Built-in Features

• Tuner: Activate the built-in tuner by pressing both footswitches simultaneously.
• Drum Rhythms: Access 99 built-in drum rhythms for practice.
• Looper: Utilize the looper function for creating layered performances.
• USB Audio Interface: Connect to a computer or mobile device via USB for direct recording and audio streaming.
• Bluetooth Audio: Stream backing tracks from your mobile device wirelessly.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.

5.2. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the unit frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.

5.3. Firmware Updates

Periodically check the SONICAKE official website for new firmware versions. Updates can introduce new features, improve performance, and fix bugs. Refer to the firmware update guide (Video 3.1) for detailed instructions.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. No Sound Output

• Ensure all cables are securely connected to the correct input/output jacks.
• Check the volume levels on the Pocket Master, your instrument, and your amplifier/headphones.
• Verify that the active preset is not muted or has an extremely low output level.
• Ensure the battery is charged or the unit is connected to power.

6.2. Connectivity Issues (USB/Bluetooth)

• For USB connection, ensure the correct drivers are installed on your computer (if required by the software). Try a different USB port or cable.
• For Bluetooth, ensure the Pocket Master is in pairing mode and visible to your device. Disconnect and re-pair if necessary.

6.3. Unexpected Noise or Hum

• Check for ground loops by trying different power outlets or using a power conditioner.
• Ensure instrument cables are in good condition and properly shielded.
• Adjust the Noise Reduction (NR) effect block within the Pocket Master's settings.
