4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Mouse

Before initial use, fully charge the mouse using the provided USB-C to USB-A cable. Connect the USB-C end to the mouse and the USB-A end to an available USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter.

4.2 Connecting via 2.4GHz Wireless

  1. Locate the 2.4GHz wireless receiver (USB-A dongle) in the package.
  2. Plug the wireless receiver directly into an available USB-A port on your computer. For optimal signal strength, especially if your computer is far or obstructed, use the provided extension dongle. Connect the wireless receiver to the extension dongle, then plug the extension dongle's cable into your computer's USB-A port.
  3. Turn on the mouse using the power switch located on the underside. The mouse should automatically connect.

4.3 Connecting via Bluetooth

  1. Turn on the mouse using the power switch on the underside.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your computer.
  3. On your computer, search for new Bluetooth devices and select "NZXT Lift Elite" from the list to pair.

4.4 Installing NZXT CAM Software

For full customization options, including DPI settings, button remapping, and profile management, download and install the NZXT CAM software from the official NZXT website (nzxt.com/cam).

5. Operating the Mouse

5.1 Button Functions

The NZXT Lift Elite Wireless Gaming Mouse features several programmable buttons:

  • Left Click (Button 1): Primary action.
  • Right Click (Button 2): Secondary action/context menu.
  • Scroll Wheel (Button 3): Scroll up/down, middle click.
  • Side Buttons (Buttons 4 & 5): Typically forward/back in web browsers, customizable via NZXT CAM.
  • DPI Button: Cycles through preset DPI stages.

5.2 DPI Adjustment

Press the dedicated DPI button on the mouse to cycle through pre-configured DPI sensitivity levels. These levels can be customized and saved using the NZXT CAM software.

5.3 Customizing with NZXT CAM

The NZXT CAM software allows for advanced customization:

  • DPI Settings: Create and manage multiple DPI stages.
  • Polling Rate: Adjust the report rate (e.g., 1000Hz, 4000Hz wireless, 8000Hz wired).
  • Button Remapping: Assign custom functions or macros to any programmable button.
  • Lift-off Distance: Configure the distance at which the sensor stops tracking when the mouse is lifted.
  • Profiles: Create and save different profiles for various applications or games.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Mouse

To maintain performance and hygiene:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture.
  • Clean the optical sensor regularly with a dry cotton swab to prevent tracking issues.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Store the mouse in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • If the mouse will not be used for a long time, charge it to about 50% before storing.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Mouse Not Responding

  • Ensure the mouse is powered on.
  • Check battery level and charge if necessary.
  • For 2.4GHz wireless, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try a different USB port.
  • For Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer and the mouse is paired. Try re-pairing the device.
  • If using wired mode, ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the mouse and the computer.
  • Restart your computer.

7.2 DPI Button Freezes Mouse (Windows Specific)

  • Some users have reported issues where pressing the DPI button in Windows causes the mouse to stop responding.
  • Workaround: Unplug and re-plug the mouse (or its wireless receiver) from the USB port.
  • Ensure your NZXT CAM software and mouse firmware are up to date. Check the NZXT support website for the latest updates.

7.3 Inconsistent Tracking

  • Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse.
  • Ensure you are using the mouse on a clean, uniform surface (e.g., a mouse pad).
  • Check for any obstructions between the mouse and the wireless receiver.
