1. Product Overview

The MCHOSE G98 PRO is a high-performance wireless mechanical keyboard designed for gaming and versatile use. It features tri-mode connectivity, hot-swappable switches, a 5-layer gasket structure for enhanced typing feel, ergonomic design, and customizable RGB lighting.

2.1. Unboxing Contents

Before setup, ensure all components are present:

2.2. Connection Modes

The MCHOSE G98 PRO supports three connection modes: 2.4GHz Wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wired (USB-C).

1. 2.4GHz Wireless: Locate the 2.4GHz receiver stored in the magnetic compartment on the left side of the keyboard. Plug the receiver into a USB port on your device. Switch the mode selector on the left side of the keyboard to the 2.4GHz wireless icon.
2. Bluetooth 5.0: Switch the mode selector on the left side of the keyboard to the Bluetooth icon. On your device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "MCHOSE G98 PRO" to pair.
3. Wired (USB-C): Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a USB port on your device. Switch the mode selector on the left side of the keyboard to the wired icon.

The mode selector switch is conveniently located on the left side of the keyboard for easy switching between connection types.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. RGB Lighting Control

The MCHOSE G98 PRO features per-key RGB lighting with 16.8 million colors and various effects. Use the following key combinations to adjust the lighting:

• Fn + Tab: Switch backlight color.
• Fn + Right Shift: Switch atmosphere lighting mode.
• Fn + Alt (Right Alt): Cycle switch ambient light strip brightness levels.
• Fn + Ctrl (Right Ctrl): Cycle switch ambient light strip speed levels.
• Fn + Up/Down Arrow: Adjust backlight brightness.
• Fn + Left/Right Arrow: Adjust backlight speed.

3.2. Customization with MCHOSE HUB Software

For advanced customization, including macros, key assignments, rhythm effects, and detailed lighting modes, download and install the MCHOSE HUB Software. This software allows you to tailor the keyboard's settings to your personal preferences.

3.3. Hot-Swappable Switches

The G98 PRO features hot-swappable PCB sockets, allowing you to easily change 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches without soldering. The keyboard comes equipped with pre-lubed linear switches for a smooth and responsive typing experience.

3.4. Ergonomic Design and Layout

The keyboard is designed with ergonomic principles, featuring a golden angle and two-stage adjustable tilt legs for comfortable typing. Its 96% layout with 99 keys saves desktop space while retaining essential keys like arrow keys and a number pad.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Cleaning

To clean your keyboard, power it off and disconnect it from your device. Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a small amount of water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid excessive moisture. For cleaning between keycaps, use compressed air or the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean the switches and plate.

4.2. Keycap and Switch Replacement

Use the included keycap and switch puller for safe removal and replacement of keycaps and switches. Gently pull keycaps straight up to remove. For switches, use the switch puller to grasp the switch firmly and pull upwards. Ensure proper alignment when inserting new switches or keycaps to avoid damage.

5. Troubleshooting

• Keyboard not responding: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the connection mode selector switch. For 2.4GHz, ensure the receiver is properly plugged in. For Bluetooth, ensure it's paired correctly. For wired, check the USB-C cable connection.
• RGB lights not working: Check brightness settings using Fn + Up/Down Arrow. Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
• Connectivity issues: Try re-pairing Bluetooth devices. For 2.4GHz, try plugging the receiver into a different USB port. Ensure the keyboard firmware is up to date via the MCHOSE HUB Software.
• Keys not registering: If specific keys are not working, try replacing the switch using the provided spare switches and puller.
