5. First Use - Map Settings

  1. Return to the homepage and click on "Go to device".
  2. Before performing the first mapping, tidy up the surrounding area, remove clutter, and fragile objects.
  3. You can choose "Quick Map" or simply start cleaning everything by tapping "Clean" to build a map.
    • In "Quick Map" mode, the robot quickly scans the home environment to generate a map.
    • In "Clean All" mode, the robot starts cleaning directly and builds a map during the cleaning process.
  4. Ensure the robot starts and returns to the base station during the first mapping process. Do not move the robot or the base station during this process to avoid mapping errors.
  5. Once the map is successfully created, it is recommended to change the map switching method to "Multi-floor".
  6. If your home has multiple floors, click on "Multi-floor Map Management" at the bottom to add other floors. You can create up to 4 map levels. The multi-floor cleaning function requires creating an independent map for each floor. Please move the robot to the designated floor when it is in standby (not in cleaning activity); it is not necessary to move the base station.
  7. Click "Create Map" to start cleaning directly or use quick mapping. The robot will create a map of the current floor, then return to the starting position at the end of the mapping.
  8. In this page, you can modify the map and special areas, such as furniture, carpets, virtual walls, and restricted zones, recognized by the robot.
  9. In the map editing page, if furniture has been modified, you need to activate the furniture icon in "Map View" to see the furniture visualization and map modifications.
  10. If the automatically generated cleaning path does not meet your needs, you can customize it by clicking on "Cleaning Sequence".
  11. Click on "Virtual Threshold/Ramp" to add thresholds and ramps to the map to allow the robot to act differently based on different types of thresholds/ramps.
  12. You can zoom in/out and drag the map. After positioning the threshold/ramp, click the checkmark in the top right corner to save it.
  13. Please note that you should not set a traversable threshold near a staircase, as it could cause fall damage.
  14. After setting the threshold on the map, you can click on the ellipsis in the top right corner of the homepage to access other settings.

6. First Use - Cleaning Settings

  1. Return to the device homepage, click on the water drop icon, and access the Cleaning Genius page.
  2. Click on "Customized" to adjust suction power, mop humidity, and more.
  3. The X50 series robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with two safety legs that help it overcome thresholds that other robots cannot cross. In the menu, you can find "Obstacle Avoidance Leg Settings" and choose how you want the robot to cross the threshold.
    • Traversing obstacles is recommended for sliding door tracks.
    • Synchronized obstacle traversing is recommended for thresholds.
  4. In the map editor, you can designate some areas as "low-lying areas". Click on "Add a low-clearance area" to add a low-clearance area. Note that each low-clearance area must be contained within a single room and cannot extend across multiple rooms.
  5. After positioning the restricted area, click the checkmark in the top right corner to save it.
  6. After setting the low-clearance area, you can click on the ellipsis in the top right corner of the homepage to access other settings.
  7. Locate "Floor Cleaning Settings" in the list and select the desired coverage mode.
    • It is recommended to use safe coverage, where the robot will enter the area slightly higher than the device's own height.
    • In extreme coverage mode, the robot will enter an area almost at the same height as the robot for cleaning, which could scratch the top of the robot.
  8. Once the setting is complete, the robot will automatically lower the Lidar in low-visibility areas during cleaning.
  9. It is also possible to access the "Smart Obstacle Avoidance" menu and activate it to improve obstacle avoidance.
  10. If you have pets, you can activate "Pet Care" and set automatic emptying to high frequency. The effectiveness of AI recognition improves with use and software updates.
  11. In "CleanGenius" mode, the robot automatically lifts the mop and cleans carpets.
  12. For thicker carpets, activate "Mop Detachment" mode in the carpet settings. The robot will return to the base station to remove the mop pads before cleaning.

  1. Press the Home button 3 times quickly.
  2. Click on "Settings" in the app.
  3. Set a four-digit password. This allows you to use the real-time camera function.
  4. In this way, you can remotely view live cleaning footage through the robot's camera.
  5. You can click on the camera button on the right side of the device's homepage and enter the password to activate this function.
  6. You can also remotely control photo taking, video recording, or recharging.

8. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your DREAME X50 Ultra Complete. Refer to the app for specific maintenance schedules and instructions for cleaning brushes, filters, and tanks.

  • Dust Bag: Replace the dust bag in the base station when full.
  • Water Tanks: Regularly empty the dirty water tank and refill the clean water tank.
  • Mop Pads: Clean or replace mop pads as needed. The base station features automatic mop cleaning with 80°C hot water and UV light for sterilization.
  • Brushes: Regularly check and clean the main and side brushes for tangled hair or debris. The HyperStream anti-tangle dual brush system minimizes hair tangles.
  • Filters: Clean or replace HEPA filters periodically to maintain suction performance.
  • Sensors: Wipe the robot's sensors with a soft, dry cloth to ensure accurate navigation and obstacle detection.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your DREAME X50 Ultra Complete, please refer to the following common solutions or consult the app's help section.

ProblemSolution
Robot does not pick up large debris even at maximum suction. You can set the cleaning frequency to 2 or more passes via zone/room selection in the app, or modify it in scheduled cleaning settings. The robot will clean with a cross-grid movement for improved debris collection. You can also activate the "Large Debris Cleaning" option in the app's Lab features for enhanced performance.
Mopping function is ineffective on stubborn stains. For stubborn and dry stains (e.g., dried sauce, spilled coffee, footprints), some marks may remain even after repeated passes. We recommend increasing the water level and selecting the intensive mopping mode for better results.
Robot gets stuck under low furniture.Ensure the "Low-lying areas" setting is correctly configured in the map settings to prevent the robot from attempting to clean areas where it might get stuck. The VersaLift navigation system lowers the robot's height to 89mm to pass under furniture, but ensure furniture edges are flat and free of protrusions.
Hair tangles on brushes.Regularly clean the HyperStream dual anti-tangle brush. The innovative air duct design efficiently captures and vacuums pet hair, while the rubber brush with bristles and TPU rubber brush ensure deep and quiet cleaning on all floors.
Base station noise during auto-washing.During the high-speed rotation of the mop pads in auto-washing phase, some noise may be generated. This phenomenon is normal.
