  • Front Panel:
    • SWITCH Button: Press to switch between PC1 and PC2.
    • PC1/PC2 LED Indicators: Show which computer is currently selected.
    • EXTEND Port: For connecting the handheld controller.
    • USB 1-4 Ports (USB 3.0): For connecting keyboard, mouse, USB drives, printers, etc.
  • Rear Panel:
    • HDMI 1 IN / HDMI 2 IN: Connect to the HDMI output of PC1 and PC2 respectively.
    • USB 1 / USB 2 (PC IN): Connect to the USB 3.0 ports of PC1 and PC2 respectively. These transmit USB data for shared peripherals.
    • HDMI OUT: Connect to your monitor.
    • DC 5V Port: Connect the included 5V 2A power adapter.

Setup Instructions

  1. Power Connection: Connect the included 5V 2A power adapter to the DC 5V port on the KVM switch and plug it into a power outlet. This is essential for stable performance, especially with high-power USB devices.
  2. Monitor Connection: Connect your monitor to the HDMI OUT port on the KVM switch using an HDMI cable. Ensure your monitor supports 4K resolution if you intend to use 4K@60Hz.
  3. Computer 1 Connection:
    • Connect an HDMI cable from your first computer's HDMI output to the HDMI 1 IN port on the KVM switch.
    • Connect one of the included USB 3.0 A to A cables from your first computer's USB 3.0 port to the USB 1 (PC IN) port on the KVM switch.
  4. Computer 2 Connection:
    • Connect an HDMI cable from your second computer's HDMI output to the HDMI 2 IN port on the KVM switch.
    • Connect the second included USB 3.0 A to A cable from your second computer's USB 3.0 port to the USB 2 (PC IN) port on the KVM switch.
  5. Peripheral Connection: Connect your keyboard, mouse, USB drives, printer, or other USB peripherals to the USB 1-4 ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  6. Handheld Controller (Optional): Connect the handheld controller to the EXTEND port for remote switching.
  7. Initial Power On: Once all connections are secure, power on your computers. The KVM switch is plug-and-play; no drivers are required.

Operating Instructions

The Alxum KVM switch offers two methods for switching between connected computers:

  1. Front Panel Button:

    Press the SWITCH button on the front panel of the KVM device to toggle between PC1 and PC2. The corresponding LED indicator (PC1 or PC2) will illuminate to show which computer is active.

  2. Handheld Controller:

    If connected, press the button on the handheld controller to switch between PC1 and PC2. This provides convenient remote switching.

Important Note: When switching between computers, there may be a brief delay (2-3 seconds) for the display to synchronize. This is normal operation for KVM switches.

Troubleshooting

  • Switching Delay:

    • If the delay is excessive, check cable quality and ensure all connections are firm.
  • KVM Switch Not Working After Some Time:
    • Perform a power cycle: Disconnect the power adapter from the KVM switch, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect.
    • Ensure the KVM switch is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
