5. Operating Instructions

5.1 ME-T530Z Tire Changer Operation

This section outlines the general procedure for changing a tire. Specific tire types or wheel designs may require variations.

  1. Prepare the Wheel: Remove the valve core to deflate the tire completely. Remove any wheel weights.
  2. Position the Wheel: Place the wheel on the turntable, ensuring it is centered and securely clamped by the jaws (outside clamp 12"-22", inside clamp 14"-24").
  3. Break the Beads: Use the bead breaker shovel to separate the tire beads from the rim on both sides. Apply lubricant to the beads if necessary.
  4. Demount the Tire: Position the mounting head and use the assist arms to lift the top bead over the rim. Rotate the turntable to fully demount the top bead. Repeat for the bottom bead.
  5. Mount the New Tire: Lubricate the beads of the new tire. Position the bottom bead onto the rim using the mounting head and turntable rotation. Use the assist arms to guide the top bead over the rim.
  6. Inflate the Tire: Reinstall the valve core. Inflate the tire to the manufacturer's recommended pressure using the inflation gauge with pedal control. Ensure beads seat properly.
  7. Remove the Wheel: Unclamp the wheel and remove it from the turntable.

5.2 ME-B620 Wheel Balancer Operation

Follow these steps for accurate wheel balancing.

  1. Mount the Wheel: Securely mount the wheel onto the balancer's shaft using the appropriate cones and quick-release nut. Ensure the wheel is centered.
  2. Input Wheel Data: Measure the rim diameter (10"-24"), rim width (1.5"-20"), and distance from the machine. Input these values into the computer balancer using the control panel. Select the appropriate balance mode.
  3. Start Balancing Cycle: Lower the wheel guard (if applicable) and press the START button. The machine will spin the wheel and measure imbalances.
  4. Interpret Results: The display will show the required weight amounts and their positions on both the inner and outer sides of the rim.
  5. Apply Wheel Weights: Apply the indicated weights to the specified locations on the rim. Use appropriate tools for weight application/removal.
  6. Re-check Balance: Spin the wheel again to confirm the balance. Repeat steps 4 and 5 if necessary until the display shows zero or minimal imbalance.
  7. Remove Wheel: Once balanced, remove the wheel from the balancer.
