2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.

  • Read all instructions before installing or using this appliance.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • Do not use outdoors. This heater is intended for indoor use only.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

4. Setup & Installation

4.1 Wall Mounting

The HJM OPTIMA 1500 is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the installation location is suitable, away from flammable materials, and has adequate clearance for air circulation.

  1. Choose Location: Select a wall location that is clear of obstructions and allows for proper heat distribution. Ensure there is a power outlet nearby.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Use the provided wall mounting brackets as a template. Mark the drilling points on the wall. Ensure the marks are level.
  3. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type. Insert the wall plugs.
  4. Attach Brackets: Secure the wall mounting brackets to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Mount Emitter: Carefully lift the thermal emitter and align its rear slots with the wall mounting brackets. Gently lower the emitter onto the brackets until it clicks securely into place.
  6. Secure Emitter: Use the small clips (if provided) to further secure the emitter to the brackets, preventing accidental dislodgement.

4.2 Initial Power-On and WiFi Connection

  1. Plug In: Once securely mounted, plug the thermal emitter into a suitable electrical outlet.
  2. Power On: The digital display will illuminate. Follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup.
  3. Download App: Download the HJM smart home application (e.g., "OPTIMA" app) from your smartphone's app store (available for iOS and Android).
  4. Pair Device: Open the app and follow the instructions to add a new device. The app will guide you through connecting the emitter to your home WiFi network. Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz.
  5. Voice Assistant Integration: If desired, link your HJM account with Amazon Alexa or Google Home through their respective apps to enable voice control.

5. Operating Instructions

6. Maintenance
