- USB-A & HDMI Cable Connection: If your laptop lacks a full-function Type-C port, use one USB-A to USB-C cable for power and one HDMI cable for video. Connect the USB-A end to your laptop's USB-A port and the USB-C end to the extender's Type-C1 or Type-C2 port. Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop's HDMI port and the extender's Type-C3 port.
