Assembly Instructions

1. Fuselage and Wing Assembly

2. Tail Section Installation

Install the horizontal and vertical stabilizers onto the rear of the fuselage. Pay attention to the orientation for correct control surface movement.

3. Motor, ESC, and Servo Installation

Mount the MM2208 1700KV motor to the front of the fuselage. Connect the 20A ESC to the motor and position it within the fuselage for proper cooling. Install the four 9g servos into their designated slots for the ailerons, elevator, and rudder.

4. Propeller Attachment

Secure the 7-inch propeller to the motor shaft. Ensure it is tightened sufficiently but not overtightened, and that it spins freely without obstruction.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

Insert a fully charged 3S LiPo 400-600mAh battery (not included) into the designated battery compartment. Secure it to prevent shifting during flight.

2. Transmitter Binding

Refer to the HOT RC HT-8A transmitter manual for detailed instructions on binding the transmitter to the F08A receiver. Ensure a successful bind before attempting flight.

3. Control Surface Checks

With the transmitter and receiver powered on, verify that all control surfaces (ailerons, elevator, rudder) respond correctly to transmitter inputs.

  • Moving the aileron stick left should cause the left aileron to go up and the right aileron to go down.
  • Moving the elevator stick back (pulling towards you) should cause the elevator to go up.
  • Moving the rudder stick left should cause the rudder to move left.
  • Adjust servo directions on your transmitter if necessary.

4. Center of Gravity (CG)

The correct Center of Gravity (CG) is crucial for stable flight. Typically, the CG is located at approximately 1/3 to 1/4 of the wing chord from the leading edge. Adjust battery position to achieve the recommended CG.

Operating Instructions

1. Pre-Flight Inspection

Before each flight, perform a thorough visual inspection:

  • Check for any damage to the airframe, propeller, or control surfaces.
  • Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Verify battery charge levels for both aircraft and transmitter.
  • Confirm control surface movement and direction.

2. Takeoff

Hand launch the aircraft into a slight headwind with a gentle, firm toss. Gradually increase throttle as it gains altitude.

3. Basic Flight Controls

Throttle: Controls motor speed and altitude.
Ailerons: Controls roll (banking).
Elevator: Controls pitch (nose up/down).
Rudder: Controls yaw (nose left/right).

4. 3D Maneuvers

The Sakura Plus is designed for 3D aerobatics. With practice, you can perform maneuvers such as hovering, rolling, and looping. Start with basic maneuvers at a safe altitude before attempting advanced 3D flight.
