Setup and Battery Installation
Before first use, or when the low battery indicator appears, install or replace the battery.
- Ensure the multimeter is turned OFF and disconnect all test leads from the input terminals.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Unscrew the retaining screw(s) and remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert a new 9V battery (NEDA 1604 or equivalent) into the battery clips, observing correct polarity.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw(s).

- Insert the black test lead into the COM (common) jack.

- For current measurements up to 200mA, use the VΩmA jack.
- For current measurements up to 10A, insert the red test lead into the 10ADC jack.
Making Measurements:
Always select the appropriate function and range using the rotary switch before connecting the test leads to the circuit.

1. DC Voltage Measurement (V=):
- Set the rotary switch to the desired DC Voltage range (e.g., 200mV, 2V, 20V, 200V, 600V).
- Connect the red test lead to the positive side of the circuit and the black test lead to the negative side.
- Read the voltage value on the LCD display.
2. AC Voltage Measurement (V~):
- Set the rotary switch to the desired AC Voltage range (e.g., 200V, 600V).
- Connect the test leads across the AC voltage source.
- Read the voltage value on the LCD display.

3. DC Current Measurement (A=):
- Set the rotary switch to the desired DC Current range (e.g., 200µA, 2mA, 20mA, 200mA, 10A).
- Important: For 10A measurements, move the red test lead to the 10ADC jack. For other current ranges, use the VΩmA jack.
- Connect the meter in series with the circuit where current is to be measured.
- Read the current value on the LCD display.
4. Resistance Measurement (Ω):
- Set the rotary switch to the desired Resistance range (e.g., 200Ω, 2kΩ, 20kΩ, 200kΩ, 2MΩ).
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Connect the test leads across the component to be measured.
- Read the resistance value on the LCD display.
5. Diode Test:
- Set the rotary switch to the Diode symbol.
- Connect the red test lead to the anode and the black test lead to the cathode of the diode.
- The display will show the forward voltage drop. Reverse the leads; an open circuit (OL) indicates a good diode.
6. Transistor (hFE) Test:
- Set the rotary switch to the hFE position.
- Identify if the transistor is NPN or PNP.
- Insert the transistor leads (E, B, C) into the corresponding holes in the hFE socket on the meter.
- Read the hFE value on the display.
7. Data Hold Function:
- Press the "HOLD" button to freeze the current reading on the display.
- Press the "HOLD" button again to release the reading and return to live measurement.
8. Backlight Function:
- Press the "BACK LIGHT" button to turn on the display backlight for better visibility in low-light conditions.
- Press the "BACK LIGHT" button again to turn off the backlight.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the meter with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Refer to the "Setup and Battery Installation" section.
