3. Product Overview

The Xilecam A3 Action Camera features a compact design with intuitive controls and dual screens for versatile shooting. Key components include:

  • Main Lens: High-quality lens for capturing 1080P video and 16MP photos.
  • Rear Screen: Primary display for menu navigation, live view, and playback.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Batteries

The camera comes with two rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries. Ensure they are fully charged before first use.

  1. Insert the batteries into the provided dual battery charger.
  2. Connect the charger to a USB power source using the USB cable.
  3. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

4.2. Inserting the Memory Card

A 32GB Micro SD card is included. The camera supports up to a 64GB memory card.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover.
  2. Locate the Micro SD card slot.
  3. Insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover.

Note:

  • For optimal performance, use a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card.
  • Format the memory card in the camera's settings before first use.

4.3. Using the Waterproof Case

The waterproof case allows the camera to be used underwater up to 131 feet (40 meters).

  1. Ensure the camera is securely placed inside the waterproof case.
  2. Close the latch firmly to create a watertight seal.
  3. Before submerging the camera with the waterproof case, perform a leak test by placing the empty case in water for a few minutes to check for any leaks.

5. Operating the Camera

5.1. Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power/Mode button for a few seconds.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Mode button again for a few seconds.

5.2. Switching Modes

Press the Power/Mode button repeatedly to cycle through the available shooting modes:

  • Video Mode: For recording video footage.
  • Photo Mode: For capturing still images.
  • Playback Mode: To review recorded videos and photos.
  • Settings Mode: To adjust camera settings.

5.3. Recording Video / Taking Photos

  1. Select the desired mode (Video or Photo) using the Power/Mode button.
  2. Press the Shutter/OK button to start recording video or take a photo.
  3. Press the Shutter/OK button again to stop video recording.

5.4. Dual Screen Functionality

The camera features both a front and rear screen. The front screen is ideal for framing selfies or vlogs, while the rear screen provides a larger view for general shooting and menu navigation.

  • The camera automatically switches to the front screen when detected, or you may have a dedicated button to toggle between screens (refer to on-screen prompts or specific camera model instructions if available).

5.5. Digital Zoom

Use the Up/Down navigation buttons to adjust the 4x digital zoom while in video or photo mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Camera and Case

  • Wipe the camera body and waterproof case with a soft, damp cloth.
  • For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches.
  • After using the waterproof case in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and allow it to air dry.

6.2. Storage

  • Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Xilecam A3 Action Camera, try the following solutions:

  • Camera not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Try using the second battery.
  • Recording issues (e.g., freezing, errors): Check if the Micro SD card is properly inserted and formatted. Ensure it is a Class 10 or higher card. Try formatting the card again or using a different compatible card.
  • Poor video/photo quality: Ensure the lens is clean and free from smudges. Check the selected resolution settings.
  • Water leakage in waterproof case: Ensure the case is properly sealed and the rubber gasket is clean and free from debris. Perform a leak test with the empty case before each use.
  • No WiFi function: Please note that this specific model of the Xilecam A3 Action Camera does not support WiFi functionality.
