Follow these steps to set up your Kawai ES60 digital piano:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the digital piano and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the ES60 on a stable, flat surface or a compatible keyboard stand. Ensure there is adequate space around the instrument for ventilation and connections.
  3. Connect Sustain Pedal: Insert the sustain pedal cable into the "DAMPER" jack on the rear panel of the piano.
  4. Connect Power:
    • Connect the AC power adapter to the "DC IN" jack on the rear panel.
    • Plug the AC power adapter into a suitable wall outlet.
  5. Music Rest: Insert the music rest into the slots provided on the top panel of the piano.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button located on the top panel to turn the instrument on or off. A brief startup sequence will occur when powering on.

5.2 Volume Control

Adjust the master volume using the VOLUME slider on the top panel. Slide it up to increase volume and down to decrease.

5.3 Sound Selection

The ES60 features 17 built-in sounds. To select a sound:

  1. Press the SOUND button.
  2. Use the +/- buttons or specific keys (as indicated in the quick reference guide, usually above the keys) to cycle through the available sounds.
  3. The selected sound will be active immediately.

5.4 Using Headphones

Connect standard stereo headphones (3.5mm jack) to the PHONES jack on the front left side of the instrument. Connecting headphones will mute the internal speakers.

5.5 Connecting to a Computer (USB)

The ES60 can be connected to a computer via its USB port for MIDI communication. This allows you to use the piano as a MIDI controller for software instruments or to record MIDI data.
