LANCHEZ In/Above Ground Pool Pump Instruction Manual

Model: JH07502

Brand: LANCHEZ

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your LANCHEZ 1.5HP 6300GPH Dual Speed 230V In/Above Ground Pool Pump, Model JH07502. Please read all instructions carefully before use to ensure proper function and to prevent injury or damage.

The LANCHEZ pool pump features a powerful 2-speed motor (3,450RPM/1,720RPM) for effective water circulation, operating on 230V and 60Hz. It offers an impressive transfer rate of 6300GPH and a maximum head of 60FT. The thermally protected motor sustains a maximum water temperature of 122°F, ensuring durability and extended life. For convenience, it includes a removable debris basket and versatile 1.5" & 2" inlet/outlet options. A see-through lid allows for clear internal viewing.

2. Safety Information

Caution:

  • Under no circumstances should the pump be switched on before being filled with water, as this could potentially cause harm to the mechanical seals and impeller.
  • It is imperative to verify the water level within the pump before initiating operation.
  • Initially, ensure the presence of the pump's drain plug. If inserted, water must be added accordingly. The excess water will seep into the pipeline and help generate suction.
  • Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or installation.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are made by a qualified electrician and comply with local codes.

3. Product Overview

4.3 Priming the Pump

Before initial use, the pump must be filled with water to ensure proper operation and prevent damage. This process is known as priming.

Video 4.2: Overview of the LANCHEZ In/Above Ground Pool Pump, demonstrating the process of filling the pump with water before use and cleaning the filter basket.
  1. Ensure the pump's drain plug is securely in place.
  2. Remove the transparent lid of the strainer basket.
  3. Fill the strainer basket with water until it overflows into the pump housing.
  4. Replace the transparent lid, ensuring it is tightly sealed.
  5. Once primed, the pump is ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

The LANCHEZ pool pump features a dual-speed motor, allowing you to choose between high-speed for maximum circulation and low-speed for energy efficiency and quieter operation.

5.1 Speed Selection

The pump is equipped with a speed change switch (refer to Figure 3.3, item 8) to toggle between high and low speeds. Select the appropriate speed based on your pool's needs:

  • High Speed (3,450 RPM): Ideal for initial cleaning, backwashing, or when maximum water circulation is required.
  • Low Speed (1,720 RPM): Suitable for daily filtration, maintaining water quality, and reducing energy consumption and noise.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your pool pump.

6.1 Cleaning the Filter Basket

The removable debris basket should be inspected and cleaned regularly, especially when the transparent lid indicates a buildup of debris. A clogged basket can reduce pump efficiency and potentially damage the motor.

  1. Turn off the pump and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Unscrew and remove the transparent lid.
  3. Carefully lift out the filter basket.
  4. Empty any collected debris and rinse the basket thoroughly with water.
  5. Inspect the O-ring on the lid for any damage and ensure it is clean.
  6. Place the clean basket back into the pump housing.
  7. Replace the lid and tighten it securely to prevent air leaks.
