3.2 Setting Time (Time Synchronization)

To ensure accurate timestamps on your recordings, synchronize the recorder's internal clock with your computer's local time. This process is typically done automatically when you connect the device to a computer for the first time, or by following specific instructions in the device's internal files.

  1. Connect the voice recorder to your computer using the USB-C cable.
  2. The device will appear as a removable disk.
  3. Locate the time synchronization file (often named time.txt or similar) within the device's storage.
  4. Open this file and follow the instructions to update the time format to match your current date and time. Save the file.
  5. Safely eject the device from your computer.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Recording

The Vandlion Mini Voice Recorder features a simple one-button operation for recording.

  1. To start recording, slide the power button (often labeled "ON/OFF") to the "ON" position. The device will begin recording automatically.
  2. To save the recording and stop, slide the power button to the "OFF" position. The recording will be saved as a file on the device's internal memory.

The standard recording quality is 160 kbps (MP3 format). Higher quality recordings (up to 1536 kbps) are saved in WAV format.

4.2 Playback

The voice recorder does not have a built-in speaker. To play back recordings, you must use the included headphones.

  1. Ensure the device is turned "OFF".
  2. Connect the wired headphones to the headphone jack on the device.
  3. Slide the power button to "ON" to activate playback mode. The device will automatically start playing the last recorded file or cycle through files.
  4. Use the inline controls on the headphone cable (if available) or refer to the device's specific playback controls for navigating between files and adjusting volume.

4.3 Voice Activated Recording (VOR)

Voice Activated Recording (VOR) allows the recorder to start recording automatically when sound is detected and pause when silence occurs, saving memory and battery. This feature is disabled by default.

To activate VOR:

  1. Connect the voice recorder to your computer.
  2. Navigate to the device's storage.
  3. Locate the configuration file, typically named RECSET.txt or similar.
  4. Open this file. Inside, you will find parameters for voice activation sensitivity. Change the relevant parameter (e.g., VOR_LEVEL) to "1" or "2" (where "1" is more sensitive and "2" is less sensitive).
  5. Save the RECSET file.
  6. Safely eject the device from your computer.
  7. Turn on the recording device. It will now operate in voice activation mode.

Note: It is not recommended to change other parameters in the configuration file unless specifically instructed, as this may affect device functionality.

4.4 File Management (View, Delete, Transfer)

You can manage your recording files by connecting the device to a computer or compatible Android phone.

  1. Connect the voice recorder to your computer (Windows/Mac) or Android phone using the USB-C cable.
  2. The device will be recognized as a removable storage device.
  3. Open the device's folder to view your recorded files. Files are typically named with a timestamp for easy identification.
  4. You can now copy files to your computer/phone, delete unwanted files, or play them directly using your computer's media player.

Note: iPhone devices are not directly compatible for file management via cable connection.
