2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow basic safety precautions.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your coffee maker for the first time:

5. Operating Instructions

Making Coffee:

  1. Fill Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh, cold water.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the filter into the portafilter. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. Do not overfill.
  3. Attach Portafilter: Securely attach the portafilter to the brewing head of the machine.
  4. Place Cups: Position one or two coffee cups under the double cup diversion spouts.
  5. Power On: Plug the machine into a suitable power outlet. Press the power button (indicator button) to turn on the coffee maker.
  6. Start Brewing: Select the desired brewing function (if multiple options are available) or press the brew button to start the coffee extraction. The machine will automatically brew the coffee.
  7. Anti-drip Function: The anti-drip feature will temporarily stop the coffee flow if you remove the cup/carafe during brewing. Return the cup/carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the removable drip tray after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Portafilter and Filter: Remove the portafilter and discard used coffee grounds. Wash the portafilter and filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse well to remove all coffee residue.
  • Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank. Rinse it with fresh water. For thorough cleaning, wash with warm, soapy water periodically.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.

Descaling:

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  2. Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
  3. Place an empty carafe on the drip tray.
  4. Run a brewing cycle until half of the solution has passed through. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Turn the machine back on and complete the brewing cycle.
  6. After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
