4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Remote

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive moisture, as this can damage the remote's electronics.

4.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor.
    • Verify that the remote control is pointed directly at the TV.
  • Specific buttons not working:
    • Ensure the remote is compatible with your specific Sony Bravia TV model. Refer to the compatibility list in Section 1.
    • Clean the remote control, especially around the unresponsive buttons, to remove any dirt or debris that might be interfering with button presses.
  • Intermittent operation:
    • This often indicates low battery power. Replace the batteries.
    • Ensure you are within the effective range of the TV's infrared receiver.
