Operating Instructions
Opening and Closing the Umbrella
- To Open: Turn the crank handle clockwise until the umbrella canopy is fully extended and taut.
- To Close: Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise until the umbrella canopy is fully retracted. Secure the canopy with any attached ties if available.
Tilting the Umbrella
The umbrella features a push-button tilt mechanism for adjustable shade:
- Locate the push button on the umbrella pole, near the crank mechanism.
- Press and hold the button while gently tilting the canopy to your desired angle (up to 45 degrees).
- Release the button to lock the umbrella in the tilted position.

Operating the LED Lights
The umbrella is equipped with 32 LED lights powered by a solar panel and a Ni-MH rechargeable battery:
- Charging: The solar panel located on top of the umbrella canopy charges the battery automatically during the day when exposed to sunlight.
- Activation: Locate the small switch on the umbrella pole, typically above the crank. Flip the switch to the "ON" position to illuminate the LED lights. Flip it to "OFF" to turn them off.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the canopy fabric with a damp cloth. Avoid machine washing or dry cleaning to preserve the water-resistant and UV-resistant properties.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during off-season or severe weather, close the umbrella and store it in a dry, protected area. Consider using an umbrella cover for added protection.
- Inspection: Periodically check the crank mechanism, tilt button, ribs, and pole for any signs of damage, loose screws, or corrosion. Lubricate moving parts if necessary.
- Battery Care: Ensure the solar panel is clean and free of debris for optimal charging. If the LED lights dim or stop working, ensure the battery has had sufficient sunlight exposure.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Umbrella does not open/close smoothly. | Crank mechanism is stiff or obstructed. | Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts of the crank mechanism. Check for any fabric or debris obstructing the ribs. |
| LED lights are dim or not working. | Insufficient solar charge, switch is off, or battery issue. | Ensure the solar panel is clean and exposed to direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours. Verify the light switch on the pole is in the "ON" position. If issues persist, the battery may need replacement (contact support). |
| Umbrella is unstable. | Base is too light or not properly secured. | Ensure you are using an umbrella base with adequate weight (recommended up to 44lbs) and that the pole is securely tightened within the base. Avoid use in high winds. |
| Canopy fabric appears faded or damaged. | Prolonged exposure to harsh elements. | While the fabric is UV-resistant, extreme conditions can cause wear. Ensure proper storage when not in use. Contact customer support for replacement canopy options. |
