5.2 Step-by-Step Installation
A screwdriver is the only tool required for installation.
- Install the Latch: Insert the deadbolt latch into the edge bore of the door. Ensure the 'UP' arrow on the latch is pointing upwards. Secure it with screws. Adjust the backset if necessary (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").
- Install the Exterior Keypad Assembly: Feed the cable through the cross bore. Align the exterior assembly with the latch and door, ensuring the spindle passes through the latch mechanism.
- Install the Mounting Plate: Place the mounting plate on the interior side of the door, aligning it with the exterior assembly. Secure it with screws, ensuring the cable is not pinched.
- Install the Interior Thumb Turn Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly. Align the interior assembly with the mounting plate and secure it with screws. Ensure the thumb turn operates smoothly.
- Install the Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the deadbolt latch. Secure it with screws.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert 4 AAA alkaline batteries, observing polarity. Close the cover.
- Test Operation: Test the lock with the default code (if any) and physical key to ensure smooth operation before closing the door.

6. Programming and Setup
6.1 Initial Setup
Upon first power-up, the lock will be in factory default mode. Refer to the quick start guide for initial programming steps, typically involving setting an administrator code.
6.2 Setting User Codes
The lock supports up to 100 user codes, each 4 to 12 digits long. Consult the quick start guide for specific button sequences to add, modify, or delete user codes.

6.3 Anti-Peeping Password Feature
To enhance security, you can enter random digits before or after your actual password. This prevents others from guessing your code by observing your finger movements.
Example: If your code is 1234, you can enter 58123479 to unlock the door.

6.4 Auto-Lock Function
The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a set period (e.g., 3 seconds) when used in conjunction with an Automatic Door Lock Sensor. This feature can be enabled or disabled as needed.

6.5 Silent Mode
The lock offers a silent mode to disable keypad beeps for quiet operation. Refer to the programming instructions for enabling/disabling this feature.
6.6 Passage Mode
Passage mode allows the door to remain unlocked for continuous access without requiring a code. This is useful for high-traffic periods. Consult the programming instructions to activate or deactivate passage mode.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1 Unlocking with Code
Enter your 4-12 digit user code (optionally with random digits before/after for anti-peeping) on the keypad. The lock will beep, and the deadbolt will retract, allowing you to open the door.
7.2 Unlocking with Key
Insert one of the provided physical keys into the keyhole on the exterior keypad assembly. Turn the key to retract the deadbolt and open the door.

7.3 Locking the Door
- Manual Locking: From the interior, turn the thumb turn to extend the deadbolt.
- Automatic Locking: If the auto-lock function is enabled and a door sensor is installed, the lock will automatically engage the deadbolt after the door closes and the set time (e.g., 3 seconds) has elapsed.
8. Maintenance
8.1 Battery Replacement
The lock requires 4 AAA alkaline batteries. When the red battery indicator light on the keypad illuminates, it signifies low battery power. Replace all four batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

8.2 Cleaning
Clean the lock's exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or electronic components.
9. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low. Ensure the cable connection between the exterior and interior assemblies is secure.
- Keypad not lighting up: Replace batteries.
- Cannot set codes: Ensure you are in programming mode. Refer to the programming section for correct steps.
- Deadbolt not extending/retracting fully: Check for obstructions in the door frame or latch mechanism. Ensure the latch is installed correctly and the backset is appropriate.
