4. Compatibility

This kit is compatible with any 26" bicycle frame that has a 5 5/16" (13.5 cm) rear dropout spacing. It supports both universal disc brakes and V-brakes, allowing you to choose the braking system that best suits your needs.

5. Setup & Installation

The electric bike conversion kit includes all necessary components for installation. You can install the kit yourself or seek assistance from a professional bicycle shop.

5.1. Wheel Assembly

The kit includes a pre-assembled 26" rear wheel with a brushless hub motor. Ensure the tire is properly seated and inflated according to its specifications.

5.2. Controller and Throttle Installation

Mount the electric controller in the provided controller bag and attach it securely to your bike frame. Install the thumb throttle and hand brakes on the handlebars.

5.3. Wiring

Connect all color-coded wires from the motor, controller, throttle, and brakes according to the included wiring diagram. Use the winding pipes and cable ties to organize and secure the cables along the bike frame.

5.4. Battery Connection

A 48V battery (not included) is required to power the kit. Connect the battery using the provided battery connection cable and terminal boxes. Ensure the power is off before connecting the battery.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, ensure all connections are secure and the battery is charged. The thumb throttle features three indicators to display battery status (empty, half, full). This helps prevent unexpected power loss.

The hand brakes are designed to automatically shut off the motor when engaged, saving energy and preventing overheating. This also acts as a safety feature.

7. Maintenance

Regularly check all electrical connections for tightness and signs of wear. Keep the motor and controller clean and free from debris. Ensure the tire pressure is maintained at the recommended level.

Inspect brake lines and levers periodically for proper function. If any components show significant wear or damage, replace them immediately.

8. Troubleshooting

• Motor not engaging: Check battery charge level. Ensure all electrical connections are secure. Verify the throttle is properly connected.
• Motor cutting out: This could be due to low battery or overheating. Check battery status. Ensure the motor is not under excessive load.
• Brakes not working: Inspect brake cables and levers. Ensure they are properly adjusted and connected to the motor cut-off sensors.
• Unusual noises: Check for loose components, especially around the motor and wheel. Ensure no cables are rubbing against moving parts.
