Setup and Initial Operation

Winding the Watch

Your SEIKO SSK033 is an automatic watch. It is powered by the movement of your wrist. If the watch has stopped, it can be started by swinging it from side to side in a horizontal arc for about 30 seconds or by manually winding the crown.

  1. To manually wind, turn the crown clockwise in the normal position (position 0) for approximately 20-30 turns.
  2. The watch will start running. For optimal power reserve, wear the watch regularly.

Setting Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2 (first click). Turn the crown to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 4 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 3 (second click). The second hand will stop. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To set the time accurately, synchronize with a reliable time source.
  3. Push the crown back to position 0 (normal position) to start the watch.

Setting the GMT Hand (24-Hour Hand)

The GMT hand allows you to track a second time zone.

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2 (first click).
  2. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the 24-hour GMT hand independently.
  3. Once the GMT hand is set to your desired second time zone, push the crown back to position 0.
