1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Asalvo AMÉRICA 3 Stroller. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your stroller. Please read it thoroughly before use and keep it for future reference.

The AMÉRICA 3 stroller is designed for children from birth up to 22 kg (approximately 4 years old). It features a robust steel chassis, EVA wheels, a full recline seat, adjustable footrest, 5-point harness, and a compact fold.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death.

  • Always use the 5-point harness to secure your child.
  • Never leave your child unattended in the stroller.
  • Ensure all locking devices are engaged before use.
  • Do not overload the stroller or the storage basket. Maximum load for the stroller is 22 kg, and for the basket is 2 kg.

4. Setup

4.1 Unfolding the Stroller

  1. Place the folded stroller on a flat surface.
  2. Release the folding latch, usually located on the side of the frame.
  3. Lift the handlebar upwards until the frame locks into place with an audible click. Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely engaged.

4.2 Attaching the Wheels

  1. Insert the front wheels into their respective slots on the front legs of the stroller until they click into place. Pull on the wheels to ensure they are securely attached.
  2. Insert the rear wheels into their respective slots on the rear axle until they click into place. Pull on the wheels to ensure they are securely attached.

4.3 Attaching the Canopy

  1. Slide the canopy attachments onto the designated points on the stroller frame near the handlebar.
  2. Secure any additional fasteners, such as snaps or zippers, to the seat unit.

4.4 Attaching the Bumper Bar

  1. Align the bumper bar connectors with the slots on the side of the seat unit.
  2. Push firmly until the bumper bar clicks into place. Ensure it is securely fastened before placing your child in the stroller.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting the Seat Recline

The seat offers multiple recline positions, including a full recline suitable for newborns. Locate the recline adjustment mechanism on the back of the seat. Squeeze or lift the lever/strap and adjust the seat to the desired angle. Release the mechanism to lock the seat in position.

5.2 Adjusting the Footrest

To adjust the footrest, press the buttons on either side of the footrest and move it up or down to the desired position. Release the buttons to lock it.

5.3 Using the 5-Point Harness

Place your child in the seat. Bring the shoulder straps over the child's shoulders and the waist straps around their hips. Connect the two buckle clips into the central buckle until they click. Adjust the straps for a snug, secure fit. To release, press the button on the central buckle.

5.4 Using the Canopy

The canopy can be extended to provide shade and protection. Pull the front edge of the canopy forward to extend it. It features a window for visibility and UV50+ protection. To retract, push the canopy back.

5.5 Engaging the Brake

The stroller is equipped with a rear brake system. To engage the brake, press down firmly on the brake pedal located near the rear wheels. Ensure both wheels are locked. To release, lift the brake pedal upwards.

5.6 Maneuvering the Wheels

The front wheels can swivel for easy maneuverability or be locked for stability on uneven terrain. Locate the locking mechanism above each front wheel. Push down to lock and pull up to unlock.

5.7 Folding the Stroller

  1. Ensure the seat is in an upright position and the canopy is retracted.
  2. Locate the folding mechanisms, typically levers or buttons on the handlebar or frame.
  3. Follow the specific folding sequence for your model, usually involving pressing buttons and pushing the handlebar forward or down.
  4. Once folded, secure the folding latch to keep the stroller compact.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Fabric: Clean fabric parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Allow to air dry completely.
  • Frame: Wipe the frame with a soft, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
  • Wheels: Regularly remove dirt and debris from the wheels and axles. Lubricate moving parts with a silicone-based spray if necessary.

6.2 Storage

Store the stroller in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mold or mildew.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Stroller does not unfold/fold smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all locking devices are disengaged before unfolding and engaged before use.
  • Wheels are stiff or squeaky: Clean the wheels and axles to remove dirt. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the moving parts.
  • Harness is difficult to buckle/unbuckle: Ensure the clips are aligned correctly. Check for any debris in the buckle mechanism.
  • Brake not engaging: Check for obstructions around the brake pedal or wheels. Ensure the brake mechanism is clean and free of debris.
