3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Unfolding

Carefully remove all components from the carrying case. Unfold the drone arms until they lock into position.

3.2 Battery Installation and Charging

Insert a charged battery into the drone's battery compartment. Ensure it clicks securely into place. Use the provided USB charging cable to charge the batteries. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.3 Propeller Guards Installation

For beginners or indoor flights, attach the propeller guards to protect the propellers from damage.

3.4 Remote Controller Setup

Extend the phone holder and antennas on the remote controller. Ensure the remote controller batteries are installed and charged.

3.5 App Installation and Connection

  1. Scan the QR code in the Quick Start Guide or User Manual to download the 'Fly Plus' app.
  2. Turn on your smartphone's Wi-Fi and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (e.g., 'Wifi-4K-XXXXX').
  3. Open the 'Fly Plus' app. Grant necessary permissions for camera and photo album access.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Ensure drone and remote controller batteries are fully charged.
  • Propellers are correctly installed and undamaged.
  • Fly in an open, wind-free area, especially for the first flight.
  • Ensure your smartphone is securely mounted to the remote controller.

4.2 Pairing and Calibration

  1. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
  2. Power on the drone, then power on the remote controller. The drone's LED lights will blink.
  3. Push the left joystick up and then down. The drone's LED light will change from blinking to a constant state, indicating successful pairing.
  4. Simultaneously control both joysticks to the bottom-left and bottom-right positions respectively. The drone's LED will blink again and then light up constantly, indicating horizontal calibration is complete. This leveling calibration should be done before every takeoff to reduce flight loss probability.

4.3 Takeoff and Landing

  • One-Key Takeoff: Press the One-Touch Takeoff button on the remote controller. The drone will automatically ascend and hover at a stable altitude.
  • One-Key Landing: Press the One-Touch Landing button. The drone will automatically descend and land.

4.4 Basic Flight Controls

Use the joysticks on the remote controller to control the drone's movement:

  • Left Joystick: Controls altitude (up/down) and rotation (left/right).
  • Right Joystick: Controls forward/backward and left/right sideward flight.

4.5 Advanced Flight Modes

  • Speed Adjustment: Adjust flight speed (low, medium, high) using the speed button on the remote. Higher speeds increase maneuverability in windy conditions.
  • 3D Flips: Perform acrobatic flips using the dedicated 3D Flip button.
  • Headless Mode: In this mode, the drone's orientation is irrelevant; it will move relative to the pilot's position.
  • Optical Flow Positioning & Altitude Hold: These features provide stable hovering and precise flight control.
  • Waypoint Navigation (Tap Fly): Use the app to draw a flight path, and the drone will follow it automatically.
  • Gesture Photo Capture: Perform specific hand gestures to trigger photo or video recording via the app.

4.6 Camera Operation

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the drone body, propellers, and camera lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or solvents that could damage the components.

5.2 Storage

When not in use, store the drone and its accessories in the provided carrying case in a cool, dry place. Remove batteries from the drone and remote controller if storing for extended periods.

5.3 Battery Care

Do not overcharge or over-discharge the batteries. Store batteries at approximately 50% charge for optimal longevity. Avoid exposing batteries to extreme temperatures.
