Setup and Installation
The Longriver R7 Shower Filter is designed for quick and easy installation without the need for specialized tools. It fits standard 1/2" threaded connections common in North America and Europe.
- Step 1: Rinse the Shower Filter
Before installation, place the shower filter under a faucet and turn on the water. Let the water run through the filter for approximately 20 seconds to flush out any carbon particles. Turn the filter upside down and flush again until the water runs clear. - Step 2: Remove Existing Showerhead
Turn off the water supply to your shower. Carefully unscrew your existing showerhead from the shower arm by turning it counter-clockwise. If you have a handheld shower, remove the shower mount. - Step 3: Prepare the Shower Arm
Clean any excess material from the shower arm threads. Wrap plumber's tape (provided) around the threads 2-3 times to ensure a watertight seal. - Step 4: Attach the R7 Shower Filter
Place a rubber O-ring into the top connection of the shower filter. Hand-tighten the shower filter onto the shower arm by turning it clockwise until secure. Do not overtighten. - Step 5: Reattach Your Showerhead
Place another rubber O-ring into the connection of your showerhead. Hand-tighten your showerhead onto the bottom of the R7 shower filter by turning it clockwise until secure. - Step 6: Test for Leaks and Flush
Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. If leaks occur, tighten the connections slightly or reapply plumber's tape. Let the water run for a few minutes to ensure proper flow and clear any remaining carbon dust.
