Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your Habistat Humidifier.
- Daily: Check the water level and refill the tank with distilled or demineralized water as needed.
- Weekly Cleaning:
- Unplug the humidifier from the power outlet.
- Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water from both the tank and the base.
- Clean the inside of the water tank and the base reservoir with a soft cloth and a mild, non-toxic cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all cleaner residue.
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Monthly Descaling: If you notice mineral buildup (white residue) on the transducer/atomizer plate or inside the water tank, descaling is necessary.
- Unplug the unit and empty all water.
- Pour a descaling solution (e.g., a mixture of white vinegar and water, or a commercial humidifier descaler) into the base reservoir, ensuring it covers the transducer.
- Allow it to soak for 20-30 minutes.
- Gently scrub the transducer and reservoir with a soft brush or cloth to remove mineral deposits.
- Rinse the base and tank thoroughly with clean water until all descaling solution and residue are removed.
- Storage: If storing the humidifier for an extended period, ensure it is completely clean and dry before packing it away. Store in a cool, dry place.
