Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Connect the 8-12V DC power supply to the device's power input port.
- Connect the RF output port (BNC connector) to your testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzer, frequency counter) using an appropriate coaxial cable.
- Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the device.
6. Operation
6.1. General Operation
The device features a numeric keypad for direct value input and function keys for mode selection and control.

Figure 3: Top-down view of the control panel, showing the display and keypad layout.
Key Functions:
- F1: Cycles selection of the set item. The cursor will point to the currently selected item (Frequency, Strength, Audio Modulation Frequency).
- F2: Backspace key for correcting input errors.
- F3: Toggles RF output On/Off.
- F4: Toggles Audio Modulation On/Off.
- Numeric Keys (0-9): Directly enter values for the selected item.
- Up/Down Keys (∧/∨): Increment or decrement the value of the selected item.
6.2. Intercom Source Mode
In Intercom Source Mode, the display shows two lines of information:
- First Line: The left side displays the current Frequency (0.5-470M), and the right side displays the Output Power (-70 to -132dBm).
- Second Line: The left side displays the Subtone (50.0-280.0Hz, supporting any analog subtone and 105 groups of digital subtone). The right side displays the Modulation Tone System (0-3K, where 0K indicates modulation tone is off).
Intercom Source Mode Key Functions:
- Numeric Keys: Directly enter values for the item currently indicated by the cursor.
- Up/Down Keys: Adjust the value of the item currently indicated by the cursor.
- F1 Key: Moves the cursor to select different items on the display.
- F2 Key: Backspace key for correcting input.
- F3 Key: Functions as a cycle switch for output power, subtone, or modulation tone when the cursor points to these specific items.
- F4 Key: Not used in Intercom Source Mode.
Subtone Setting:
- Analog Subtone: To set an analog subtone, directly input 4 digits. For example, to set 88.5Hz, input "0885".
- After direct input, using the Up/Down keys will adjust the subtone in 0.1Hz steps.
- To adjust using standard subtone steps (e.g., starting from 67Hz), first input "0000" and then use the Up/Down keys to cycle through the standard subtone values.
7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your device, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Protection: Avoid exposing the device to liquids, corrosive substances, or strong magnetic fields.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Service: Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel for any repairs or internal maintenance.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on | Incorrect power supply; loose power connection | Verify the power supply is 8-12V DC; check that the power cable is securely connected. |
| No RF output | Output disabled; incorrect frequency/strength settings; faulty cable | Press F3 to ensure output is enabled; check frequency and strength settings; inspect RF cable for damage. |
| Display shows incorrect values | Input error; temporary glitch | Use F2 (Backspace) to correct input; re-enter values carefully. If issue persists, power cycle the device. |
| Audio modulation not working | Audio modulation disabled | Press F4 to enable audio modulation. |
