4. Installation Guide

4.1 Front Camera Installation

  1. Clean the windshield area where the dash cam will be mounted. Ensure it is free of dust and grease.
  2. Attach the adhesive pad to the bracket, then attach the bracket to the front dash cam.
  3. Remove the protective film from the adhesive pad and firmly press the dash cam onto the chosen location on the windshield, typically behind the rearview mirror. Hold for 30 seconds.
  4. Adjust the lens angle to ensure it captures the road ahead clearly.

4.2 Rear Camera Installation

  1. Identify a suitable location on the rear windshield, ensuring a clear view and avoiding obstruction by defroster lines.
  2. Clean the chosen area thoroughly.
  3. Attach the adhesive pad to the rear camera and mount it firmly on the rear windshield.
  4. Connect the rear camera cable to the front dash cam's AV-IN port.

4.3 Wiring

  1. Connect the charging cable to the front dash cam's power input.
  2. Route the charging cable along the edge of the windshield, down the A-pillar, and to the vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). Use the included pry tool to tuck the cable neatly under the trim.
  3. Plug the car charger into the 12V power outlet.
  4. Route the rear camera cable from the front dash cam to the rear camera, tucking it along the headliner and side panels.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

The dash cam automatically powers on and begins recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on and power is supplied to the 12V outlet. It powers off automatically when the ignition is turned off.

5.2 Recording Features

  • Loop Recording: The camera records continuously in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest files are automatically overwritten by new recordings. The device supports up to 256GB TF cards (not included).
  • G-Sensor Protection: The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. In such an event, the current recording segment is automatically locked and protected from being overwritten, preserving critical footage.

5.3 24-Hour Parking Mode

For continuous surveillance when the vehicle is parked, the 24-hour parking mode can be activated. This feature requires a dedicated Type-C hardwire kit (ASIN: B0D12D7HSC, not included) to provide constant power to the dash cam. Parking mode typically uses low FPS recording or collision detection to conserve power and storage.

5.4 Wi-Fi and App Control

The DDPAI N3 Pro features built-in Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity to your smartphone. Download the DDPAI app (available on iOS and Android) to:

  • View live footage from both cameras.
  • Download recorded videos to your phone.
  • Manage dash cam settings.
  • Perform firmware updates.

5.5 Night Vision

The dash cam incorporates an advanced CMOS sensor, a large F1.8 aperture, a 5-layer optical lens, and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology to improve clarity in low-light conditions. This system automatically adjusts exposure to capture clear and detailed footage during nighttime driving.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lenses and body. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the DDPAI app to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Memory Card: Format the memory card periodically (e.g., once a month) using the dash cam's settings to maintain its performance and prevent data corruption. Replace the memory card if it shows signs of degradation or errors.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for extended periods.
