3. Setup
3.1 SD Card Installation & Formatting
- Insert a compatible MicroSD card (Class 10, U3 or higher, max 256GB) into the card slot on the dash cam.
- Before first use, the SD card MUST be formatted. This can be done via the 'RoadRec' app settings after connecting to the dash cam's Wi-Fi.
Important: Incompatible or low-speed cards may cause recording and playback issues. Always format the SD card before initial use and periodically to maintain optimal performance.

3.2 Mounting the Dash Cam
- Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Apply the electrostatic sticker to the cleaned area on the windshield. This helps protect your windshield and allows for easier repositioning.
- Attach the dash cam's mount to the electrostatic sticker. Ensure it is positioned to provide a clear, unobstructed view of the road. The compact design is intended not to block your driving field of view.
- Connect the Type-C power cable to the dash cam and route the cable along the windshield edge and dashboard, using the provided cable clips and trim tool to conceal it for a neat installation.
- Plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

3.3 App Connection (RoadRec)
The Sarmert DC1 features built-in Wi-Fi for easy connection and control via the 'RoadRec' app.
- Download the 'RoadRec' app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Power on the dash cam by starting your vehicle.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (usually named 'PezTio-Q2_xxxx' or similar). The default password is typically '12345678'.

4.2 Key Features
2.5K 1440P Recording & Night Vision
The DC1 records in 2560x1440 QHD resolution, offering 70% higher image quality than 1080P. Equipped with 6 full-glass lenses, an F2.0 large aperture, and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, it automatically balances light and dark areas, improving night vision by 40% for clear recordings in various lighting conditions.

Loop Recording
The dash cam continuously records video in segments (e.g., 1, 2, or 3 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten by new recordings, ensuring continuous operation without manual intervention.

G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)
The built-in G-sensor automatically detects sudden movements or collisions. In the event of an impact, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a separate folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical accident evidence is preserved.

24-Hour Parking Monitor
For continuous 24-hour parking monitoring, a Type-C dash cam hardwire kit (ASIN: B0C27S2638, not included) is required. This feature offers two modes:
- Delayed Parking Mode: Records continuously in time-lapse (1fps) when the car engine is off.
- Collision Detection Parking Mode: Activates and records a 30-second emergency video if a collision is detected while parked.

Image: Diagram illustrating the two 24-hour parking modes (Time-Lapse and Collision Detection) and the necessity of a separate hardwire kit for this functionality.
Voice Guidance
The dash cam provides real-time voice prompts to inform you about its status, such as "Please format the memory card," "Video locked," or "The parking mode got activated." These voice prompts can be managed or turned off via the app settings.

5. Maintenance
- SD Card: Periodically format your MicroSD card (e.g., once a month) to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth recording.
- Lens Cleaning: Keep the camera lens clean from dust and smudges for optimal video clarity. Use a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Temperature: The dash cam is designed to operate in temperatures from -20℃ to 70℃ (-4° to 158°F). It is normal for the device to feel slightly warm during operation. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures outside this range for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
- Camera not turning on: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's cigarette lighter. Check if the vehicle's 12V outlet is functioning.
- Recording issues (freezing, skipping): This is often due to an incompatible or slow MicroSD card. Ensure your card meets the recommended specifications (Class 10, U3 or higher, max 256GB) and try formatting it.
- Wi-Fi connection problems: Ensure the 'RoadRec' app is updated to the latest version. Disconnect and reconnect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network on your phone. The effective Wi-Fi signal range is about 30 feet.
- Poor night vision: Ensure the windshield and camera lens are clean. Verify WDR is enabled in the app settings.
- Dash cam gets hot: It is normal for the dash cam to run slightly warm during operation, especially in higher ambient temperatures, as its operating temperature range is -20℃ to 70℃.
