1. Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your INKBIRDPLUS HD08 Carbon Monoxide Detector and HD05 Natural Gas Leak Detector. These devices are designed to monitor gas quality, temperature, and humidity, providing real-time alerts to ensure the safety of your home or other applicable environments.
Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: This device is intended to detect carbon monoxide (CO) and natural gas. It is not designed to detect smoke, fire, or other gases. It is not a substitute for proper ventilation and maintenance of fuel-burning appliances.
- Do not paint the detector. Paint can clog the vents and interfere with the sensor's ability to detect gases.
- Do not block the air vents on the detector. Ensure proper airflow around the device.
- Regularly test the alarm as instructed in the "Operating Instructions" section.
- If the alarm sounds, immediately move to fresh air and call emergency services. Do not re-enter the premises until it has been deemed safe by professionals.
- The detector should be plugged into a standard wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Ensure the device is installed in an appropriate location as per local regulations and safety guidelines for gas detectors.

Figure 3: HD05 Natural Gas Leak Detector display showing gas concentration levels (bars), temperature (°F/°C), and humidity (%). Dimensions are approximately 2.05 inches wide by 3.39 inches high.
Both detectors feature a 2.1-inch HD IPS color screen display, providing clear and broad viewing angles for real-time readings of gas levels, temperature, and humidity. They are equipped with three function buttons: H, O, and D.
4. Setup
The INKBIRDPLUS HD08 and HD05 detectors are designed for simple plug-and-play operation.
- Unpack the detector from its packaging.
- Select a suitable standard wall socket for installation. For CO detectors, typically near sleeping areas and on every level of the home. For natural gas detectors, near gas appliances or potential leak sources, but not directly above them.
- Plug the alarm detector directly into the wall socket. The device will automatically power on and begin its warm-up process.
- Allow the device to complete its warm-up (typically a few minutes) before it starts real-time monitoring.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Button Functions
The detectors feature three main function buttons: H, O, and D.
- "O" Button (Center):
- Short Press: Initiates a self-test of the alarm. If the device beeps 3 times, it indicates normal operation.
- Long Press: Toggles the temperature display unit between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
- "H" Button (Left): Adjusts the screen brightness. There are three brightness modes: High, Low, and Backlight Off.
- "D" Button (Right): Toggles the 85 dB alarm sound on or off.

Figure 6: Self-test operation on the HD05 Natural Gas Detector. A green light indicates normal operation, while a red light signifies an error or sensor malfunction.
5.2 Display Information
The 2.1-inch HD color screen provides real-time data:
- CO (Carbon Monoxide) / GAS: Displays the concentration of carbon monoxide in parts per million (PPM) for the HD08, or a bar graph indicating gas levels for the HD05.
- Temperature: Shows the ambient temperature in either Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
- Humidity: Displays the relative humidity percentage (%).
- Indicator Lights:
- Green Light (Screen off and indicator light on): Indicates normal operation and continuous monitoring of CO or combustible gas concentration.
- Red Light (Alarm): Indicates a mute error, sensor malfunction, or an active alarm due to detected gas levels.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your INKBIRDPLUS detectors, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Testing: Perform a self-test (short press "O" button) at least once a month to ensure the alarm and sensor are functioning correctly.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the detector with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or spray directly onto the device. Ensure the air vents are free from dust and debris.
- Avoid Obstructions: Ensure nothing is blocking the air vents or the display screen.
- Environmental Conditions: Keep the detector within recommended operating temperature and humidity ranges to prevent sensor degradation.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Alarm sounds (Red light flashing, 85 dB beep) | High concentration of CO (HD08) or natural gas (HD05) detected. |
|
| Red light is on, but no alarm sound (if alarm is enabled) | Mute error or sensor malfunction. |
|
| Display is blank or not functioning | No power, or device malfunction. |
