  • Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, children, and pets.
  • Do not operate the chainsaw when fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
  • Inspect the chainsaw for damage or loose parts before each use. Do not operate a damaged chainsaw.
  • Handle fuel with extreme care. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool.
  • Be aware of kickback and how to avoid it.
  • Keep all parts of your body away from the saw chain when the engine is running.

3. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your chainsaw before first use.

  1. Install the Bumper Spikes (Felling Dogs): Position the bumper spikes (felling dogs) onto the chainsaw body, ensuring they face the correct direction as indicated in the diagram. Secure them with the provided screws.
  2. Install the Guide Bar: Place the guide bar onto the studs on the chainsaw engine housing. Ensure the oil hole on the guide bar aligns with the oil outlet on the engine housing.
  3. Install the Saw Chain: Carefully place the saw chain around the clutch drum and then around the guide bar. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain teeth are facing forward in the direction of rotation.
  4. Attach the Side Cover: Position the side cover over the guide bar and chain, aligning it with the studs. Do not fully tighten the nuts yet.
  5. Adjust Chain Tension: Use the chain tensioning screw to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the guide bar.
  6. Tighten the Nuts: Once the chain tension is correctly set, firmly tighten the side cover nuts to secure the guide bar and chain.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Fuel Mixture

This chainsaw uses a 2-stroke engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Mix 90# gasoline with 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 25:1 (25 parts gasoline to 1 part oil). Use the provided mixing bottle for accurate measurement.

4.2 Starting the Chainsaw

Follow these steps to start your chainsaw safely:

  1. Engage the Chain Brake: Push the chain brake lever forward to engage the chain brake. This prevents the chain from moving during startup.
  2. Set On/Off Switch: Move the engine's ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position.
  3. Pull out Choke Button: Pull the choke button out completely. This enriches the fuel mixture for cold starts.
  4. Pull Starter Handle (Cold Start): Pull the starter handle firmly and steadily approximately 6 times until the engine briefly fires or attempts to start. Do not pull the cord to its full extension.
  5. Push Choke Button In: Push the choke button completely back in.
  6. Pull Starter Handle (Final Start): Continue pulling the starter handle until the engine starts and runs. Once the engine starts, briefly blip the throttle to disengage the fast idle.

4.3 General Operation

  • Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
  • Maintain a stable footing and balance.
  • Do not cut above shoulder height.
  • Be aware of falling branches and logs.
  • Ensure proper chain lubrication during operation.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your chainsaw.

  • Chain Sharpening: Regularly check the saw chain for sharpness. A dull chain will not cut efficiently and can increase the risk of kickback. Sharpen the chain according to the manufacturer's specifications or replace it when necessary.
  • Guide Bar Maintenance: Clean the guide bar groove regularly to remove sawdust and debris. Flip the guide bar periodically to ensure even wear.
  • Air Filter Cleaning: Clean the air filter frequently, especially in dusty conditions. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance.
  • Spark Plug Inspection: Inspect the spark plug for wear and proper gap. Replace if necessary.
  • Fuel System: Drain the fuel tank if storing the chainsaw for an extended period. Run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel to clear the carburetor.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the chainsaw clean from sawdust, oil, and debris.
