• Wiring: Use only copper wire with a minimum gauge of 8 AWG and a 40-amp breaker for the 5000W model. Ensure all wires are securely tightened and insulation is not under terminals.
• Overheat Protection: The heater is equipped with built-in overheat protection that will automatically shut off the unit if it becomes too hot.
• Clearances: Maintain minimum distances from walls and ceilings as specified in the installation section to ensure proper airflow and prevent fire hazards.
• Location: Install the heater away from traffic areas and combustible materials.

3. Setup & Installation

This section provides detailed instructions for the safe and proper installation of your Garvee Electric Garage Heater. It is highly recommended that a licensed electrician performs the hardwiring.

3.1 Wiring Instructions

1. Turn off Power: Ensure the main circuit breaker is OFF before beginning any wiring.
2. Access Wiring Compartment: Remove the screw from the bottom panel to access the internal wiring.
3. Open Cutout: Choose a side and open the knockout for wire entry.
4. Install Cable Gland: Insert the cable gland (strain relief) into the opened cutout.
5. Run Wires: Pass the 240V power supply wires (black, red, green/bare copper) through the cable gland.
6. Connect Wires:
   • Connect the black wire to the L1 terminal.
   • Connect the red wire to the L2 terminal.
   • Connect the green/bare copper wire to the ground terminal.
7. Secure Connections: Ensure all terminal screws are securely tightened (recommended 40 in-lbs) and that no insulation is caught under the terminals. Tighten the cable gland to secure the wire.
8. Close Panel: Close the bottom panel and secure it with the screw.

3.2 Mounting Instructions

The heater can be ceiling-mounted using the included bracket. Ensure you mount it to a sturdy structure like a ceiling joist or wall stud.

1. Locate Support: Identify a suitable ceiling joist or other firm support structure.
2. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes for the mounting screws.
3. Attach Bracket: Place washers on the lag bolts and screw the mounting bracket securely into the ceiling support.
4. Lift Heater: Carefully lift the heater and align the lower bracket holes with the corresponding holes on the heater.
5. Secure Heater: Insert and tighten the larger bolts to secure the heater to the bracket.
6. Adjust Angle: Use the smaller knobs on the side to fix the angle of the heater. There are four different positions for customizable airflow.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Garvee Electric Garage Heater offers various modes and settings for optimal comfort and energy efficiency.

4.1 Initial Power-Up

• After hardwiring and mounting, turn on the main circuit breaker. The unit will emit a beep, indicating it has power and correct voltage.
• Ensure the toggle switch on the back of the unit is set to position 'I' for the built-in thermostat. Position 'II' is for an external thermostat, which must be wired by a professional.

4.2 Control Panel & Remote Control

The heater can be operated via the digital control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

• Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the unit on or off.
• Mode Selection: Cycle through different modes: Low (3000W), Eco (automatic power adjustment), Fan Only (air circulation without heating), and High (5000W).
• Temperature Setting: Use the up/down buttons to set your desired temperature between 45°F and 95°F (adjustable per 1°F). The room temperature is displayed automatically after 3 seconds of setting.
• Timer Function: Set an auto-off timer for 1-8 hours to save energy.

• Cleaning: Ensure the heater is unplugged and cool before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
