Failure to operate this Product in a safe and responsible manner could result in injury or damage to the product or other property. This product is not intended for use by children without direct adult supervision. Do not use with incompatible components or alter this product in any way outside of the instructions provided by Horizon Hobby, LLC. The product manual contains instructions for safety, operation, and maintenance. It is essential to read and follow all the instructions and warnings in the manual, prior to assembly, setup or use, in order to operate correctly and avoid damage or serious injury.

3. Package Contents

The ARRMA 1/10 SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 Short Course Truck RTR package includes the following items:

  • (1) SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 1/10 Scale Short Course Truck RTR
  • (1) Spektrum SLT 80A 2-in-1 Waterproof ESC & Receiver 2S/3S with DSC
  • (1) Spektrum 3100Kv Brushless Motor
  • (1) Spektrum SLT3 2.4GHz Transmitter
  • (1) Spektrum S662 Metal-Geared 25T Waterproof Digital Servo
  • (4) AA Batteries (for transmitter)

4. Setup

4.1 Required Items (Not Included)

To operate your ARRMA SENTON truck, you will need to provide a compatible battery and charger. The vehicle supports 2S or 3S LiPo batteries.

4.2 Battery Installation

Follow these steps to install the main drive battery:

  1. Ensure the vehicle's power switch is OFF.
  2. Remove the body clips and lift the truck body.
  3. Place your chosen 2S or 3S LiPo battery into the battery tray. Ensure it fits within the maximum dimensions.
  4. Secure the battery using the integrated battery strap system.
  5. Connect the battery to the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller).
  6. Reattach the truck body and secure it with the body clips.

4.3 Transmitter Setup

The Spektrum SLT3 2.4GHz Transmitter is included. Install the four AA batteries (included) into the transmitter. Refer to the separate transmitter manual for detailed setup and calibration procedures.

4.4 Binding Procedure

Your vehicle and transmitter are factory-bound. If re-binding is necessary, follow these general steps:

  1. Ensure the transmitter is off and the vehicle is off.
  2. Power on the receiver/ESC in the vehicle while holding the bind button (if available) or following the specific bind sequence for your Spektrum system.
  3. Power on the transmitter while holding its bind button (if available).
  4. Observe the LED indicators on both the receiver and transmitter for successful binding confirmation. Consult the Spektrum manual for precise instructions for your specific components.

5. Operation

5.1 Basic Controls

Familiarize yourself with the transmitter controls:

  • Steering Wheel: Controls left and right direction.
  • Throttle Trigger: Pull for forward motion, push for reverse/brake.
  • Trim Dials: Adjust steering and throttle neutral points.

5.2 Driving Environment

The ARRMA SENTON is designed for various terrains. Avoid operating in deep water or extremely muddy conditions to prevent damage to electronics, despite its waterproof components. Always operate in open areas free from obstacles, people, and pets.

5.3 Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Throttle Limiting

The Spektrum DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system assists in maintaining control during aggressive driving. The throttle limiting feature allows you to adjust the maximum power output, which is useful for new drivers or when operating in confined spaces.

6. Maintenance

6.1 General Cleaning

After each use, clean your truck to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid using water directly on electronics unless specified as waterproof.

6.2 Drivetrain Inspection

Regularly inspect the 4X4 drivetrain, including the center differential, for wear or damage. Ensure all gears are free of debris and lubricated as per the detailed service manual (available from ARRMA support).

6.3 Suspension Check

Check the all-terrain suspension package for proper function. Inspect shock absorbers for leaks and ensure springs are not damaged. Adjustments to oil and ride height can optimize performance.

6.4 Tire Care

Inspect tires for wear, tears, or punctures. Soft tires can wear quickly, especially on abrasive surfaces. Replace worn tires to maintain optimal traction and handling.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues

  • No Power: Check battery charge, connections, and vehicle power switch. Ensure transmitter batteries are fresh.
  • Loss of Control: Re-bind the transmitter and receiver. Check for interference or damaged antenna wires.
  • Low Voltage Cutoff (LVC): If the vehicle stops or slows down unexpectedly, the battery may be depleted. Use batteries with sufficient 'C' rating (80C or higher recommended) to avoid premature LVC.
  • Motor/ESC Issues: Ensure cooling fans (if installed) are clear. Check for loose motor wires or damaged ESC.
