  • Do not blend hot liquids without proper ventilation. Remove the measuring cup cover and cover the lid opening with a towel to avoid excess splatter.

Control Panel Overview

Image: Detailed view of the blender's control panel, showing the dial with speed settings (1-5), presets (Ice Crush, Auto Blend, Clean), Pulse button, and digital display with countdown timer and alerts.

The blender features a dial control panel with 5 blending speeds, a Pulse option, and 3 preset functions: Ice Crush, Auto Blend, and Clean. The digital display provides a countdown timer and alerts for optimal operation.

Manual Speed Control

Turn the dial to select speeds 1 through 5. Speed 1 is the lowest, and Speed 5 is the highest. Use lower speeds for softer ingredients or light mixing, and higher speeds for tougher ingredients or finer blending.

Pulse Function

Press and hold the "Pulse" button for short bursts of high-speed blending. Release the button to stop. This function is ideal for chopping ingredients, quick mixing, or breaking down larger pieces.

Preset Functions

  • Ice Crush: Select this preset to efficiently crush ice. The blender will automatically adjust power and duration for optimal ice crushing results.
  • Auto Blend: This intelligent function analyzes the ingredients in the jar and automatically customizes the blending settings to achieve the ideal consistency without guesswork.
  • Clean: Use this preset for easy cleaning. Add warm water and a drop of dish soap to the jar, then select the "Clean" preset. (See Maintenance and Cleaning for more details).

Blending Hot Liquids

The 48 oz Tritan blending jar is designed to be heat-resistant. When blending hot liquids, remove the measuring cup cover from the lid to allow steam to escape. For safety, cover the lid opening with a towel to prevent splattering. Always start with a low speed and gradually increase.

Using the Tamper and Scraper Tool

The included 2-in-1 tamper and scraper tool can be used to push ingredients towards the blades during blending, especially for thick mixtures. Only use the tamper when the lid is securely in place and the measuring cup cover is removed. Do not use other utensils. The scraper end helps remove contents from the jar after blending.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Easy Cleaning Options

The Chefman Obliterator Blender offers two convenient ways to clean:

  1. "Clean" Preset: Add 2 cups of warm water and 1-2 drops of dish soap to the blending jar. Secure the lid. Select the "Clean" preset on the control dial. The blender will run a cycle to clean itself. After the cycle, rinse the jar thoroughly.
  2. Dishwasher Safe Accessories: The blending jar, lid, and tamper/scraper tool are top-rack dishwasher safe. Ensure all parts are separated before placing them in the dishwasher.

Motor Base Cleaning

Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.

Blade Design

The innovative blunt-blade design ensures safety during cleaning without compromising blending performance. Exercise caution when handling the blades.

Troubleshooting

  • Blender does not turn on:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Verify the blending jar is correctly seated and locked onto the motor base. The display may show "Fix Jar" if not properly aligned.
  • "Add Liquid" alert:
    • This alert indicates that the blender detects insufficient liquid for the ingredients being processed. Add more liquid to achieve the desired consistency and prevent motor strain.
  • Motor sounds strained or stops:
    • The load might be too heavy or too thick. Add more liquid, or use the tamper tool to push ingredients towards the blades.
    • Unplug the unit, remove some ingredients, and try again.
    • Ensure the blades are not obstructed by large, hard pieces of food.
  • Blender is excessively loud:
    • While powerful blenders can produce significant noise, ensure the lid is properly secured and the jar is correctly seated. If unusual or excessive noises persist, discontinue use and contact customer support.
