6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your ARRMA Mojave GROM. After each use, inspect the vehicle for any damage or loose components.

  • Cleaning: Remove dirt, dust, and debris from the chassis, suspension, and drivetrain. A soft brush and compressed air can be effective. Avoid using water directly on electronics.
  • Inspecting Components: Check all screws, nuts, and bolts for tightness. Ensure suspension components, steering linkages, and wheel hubs are free of excessive play.
  • Tire Wear: Monitor tire wear, as aggressive driving can cause rapid degradation. Replace tires when tread is significantly worn to maintain optimal traction.
  • Servo Saver: The steering servo saver is a critical component. Inspect it regularly for proper function and ensure it is not damaged, as this can affect steering response.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Vehicle Not Responding / Limp Mode

If the vehicle enters a 'limp mode' or becomes unresponsive, first ensure the battery is fully charged and properly connected. Disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset the electronic speed controller (ESC) and receiver. Check for any obstructions in the drivetrain or steering mechanism.

7.2 Overheating

Continuous high-speed operation or running in hot conditions can lead to overheating of the motor or ESC. Allow the vehicle to cool down between runs. Consider upgrading to a larger cooling fan for the motor if frequent overheating occurs, especially when using 3S batteries.

7.3 Steering Issues

If steering is inconsistent or unresponsive, check the steering servo and its connections. Inspect the servo saver for damage or excessive wear. Ensure all steering linkages are free-moving and not obstructed.
