4. Setup and Installation
The Sifely Model O Smart Deadbolt is designed for straightforward installation. A Phillips head screwdriver is the only tool required. Ensure you have 4 AA batteries (not included) for operation.
4.1. Door Compatibility
Ensure your door meets the following specifications:
- Door Thickness: 1⅜" ~ 2³/₁₆" (35mm - 55mm)
- Bore Hole Diameter: 2⅛" (54mm)
- Bore Hole Backset: 2⅜" or 2¾" (60mm or 70mm)

4.2. Installation Steps
For a visual guide, please refer to the official installation video below. It is strongly recommended to install the lock while the door is open/ajar. Do not close your door until the batteries are inserted and calibration is complete.

- Install the Bolt: Ensure the 'UP' arrow on the deadbolt is facing upwards. Insert the bolt into the door hole and secure it with the provided screws. Check if the T-shaped hole is centered; adjust if necessary by rotating the bolt.
- Install Exterior Keypad: Ensure the bump on the tailpiece is facing upwards. Slide the tailpiece into the T-shaped hole on the deadbolt. Route the wire cable under the deadbolt. The exterior keypad should face outside.
- Install Mounting Plate: Thread the cable through the hole at the bottom of the mounting plate. Slide the tailpiece from the exterior keypad into the corresponding hole on the mounting plate. Align the guide posts of the mounting plate with the holes on the exterior keypad. Secure the mounting plate using the appropriate screws based on your door thickness (refer to the provided scale card).
- Attach Wire Cable to Interior Lock: Remove the battery cover from the interior lock body. Connect the cable from the exterior keypad to the designated slot on the interior lock.
- Install Interior Lock: Insert the tailpiece on the exterior keypad into the T-shaped slot at the back of the interior lock. Tuck any excess cable into the door hole. Secure the interior lock to the mounting plate using the provided screws.
- Perform Calibration: Insert 4 AA batteries into the interior lock. On the exterior keypad, enter "123456#" to initiate the door handing process. The lock will calibrate itself. When the bolts stop moving, the process is complete.
5. Operating Instructions
Your Sifely Model O Smart Deadbolt offers multiple convenient ways to lock and unlock your door.
5.1. Unlocking Methods

- Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized. The AI-powered sensor learns and gets faster with each use.
- Keypad Code: Enter your programmed 4-6 digit code on the keypad, followed by the '#' key. The lock will unlock.
- Fob: Tap the Sifely fob against the keypad. The lock will unlock.
- Mobile App: Use the Sifely app on your smartphone to remotely unlock the door. Remote unlocking requires a Sifely Gateway (sold separately).
- Physical Key: In case of battery depletion or electronic malfunction, use the provided physical key to manually unlock the deadbolt.

5.2. Locking Methods
- Auto-Lock: The lock is set to auto-lock by default after a short delay following each unlock. This feature can be configured in the Sifely app.
- One-Touch Lock: From the outside, press and hold the '#' key on the keypad to instantly lock the door.
- Interior Knob: From the inside, rotate the interior knob to lock or unlock the deadbolt.

5.3. Smart Home Integration

6. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: The lock requires 4 AA batteries. Replace all batteries when a low battery alert is received. The lock retains all settings during battery replacement.
- Cleaning: Wipe the keypad and lock body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check that all screws are tight and the lock operates smoothly.

- Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low. Ensure the interior and exterior units are properly connected.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint in the app.
- Keypad not lighting up: Tap the keypad to activate it. If it still doesn't light up, check battery connections.
- Remote access not working: Verify that your Sifely Gateway is properly connected to Wi-Fi and paired with the lock. Check your internet connection.
- Door handing error during calibration: Ensure the deadbolt is installed correctly and the tailpiece is properly aligned. Repeat the calibration process.
